Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

My name is Mulshine, I am a 22 year old DJ & Producer from Jönköping, Sweden. I love all kinds of music; fast and slow, hard and mellow, electronic and acoustic. But when it comes to making it myself, I've always had an extra talent towards the types of music that would focus mostly on melodies.

After noticing that melodic thinking was my strength I've focused on making melodic music, mostly. I tend to make different types of House, which has (for me) evolved more into Pop almost, and I also make some future bass inspired stuff aswell sometimes. I rarely stick to a very strict range when it comes to what BPM I produce in, sometimes I make stuff in 150, and some times 70, but the majority of songs I've made recently varies between 80-120.

If you haven't heard any of my music, here is a great example of what I've been doing lately.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

When I started making music 5 years ago it was because I was very into Dubstep at the time and really wanted to make it myself. But after a few months I started listening to a lot of Progressive House (Avicii / Alesso / Steerner etc.) which I really hadn't listened to before and my passion started to change more and more from Dubstep towards that instead. I still today enjoy Dubstep occasionally, but I kinda got tired of it. So I quickly transitioned into House instead as my main genre to produce, but still trying to make other stuff as well.

Then a few months later, when I turned 18, I went to The Netherlands to the Hardstyle party "Qlimax" (2013), and fell in love with Hardstyle again (which I loved back in 2008/09) and started producing that aswell. Then the next year I had no actual "main" genre, I just made all kinds of stuff. This lead to me making a rap beat for a friend one time in January 2015, which I then added a percussion loop I had just found containing bongos and shakers, which turned it into a tropical house track more or less. When I did that I really liked the sound and that was the first thing that people actually seemed to really like when I uploaded it and shared both online and with friends.

After that response I started to focus on making Tropical House as my main genre, this was in the very beginning of the "Tropical House era", like a month after Kygo's "Firestone" was released. So I jumped on board that train pretty quickly before it was TOO mainstream.

I would say that, right now, my main influences are Avicii (my absolute favorite producer), Headhunterz & Matoma.

What´s new right now?

I have a new original song called "Burning It Down", featuring british singer/songwriter River, coming out on February 2nd via Cr2 Records. You may know River from her version of "Fast Car" together with Tobtok, which recently sold Platinum in Australia!

This is my first original to be released in 2 years, and my first ever original to be released on a label. So I'm looking forward to that a lot actually! If any of this sounds interesting, you can follow me on Spotify/YouTube/Soundcloud etc. (links below) and you'll be one of the first to hear it soon! ?
