Lover of music and fitness, especially dance and cycle. I am an instructor at Zengo Cycle where I get to blend my favorite things into one 50 minute class! What kind of stuff do you cover mostly? And how do you typically discover and decide WHAT to cover?
Each and every playlist I make is different so you'll never hear the same playlist in class but there is a method to the madness. Each class at Zengo Cycle is a full 50 minutes with a general structure that ensures each rider gets the most effective workout on a bike. To keep my riders motivated and engaged I add a mix of genres so everyone can hear something they love. I mostly mix EDM; House, Dubstep, Trap with some Pop and Hip Hop, anything that moves me and makes me dance is what I stick to. I'll also do themed playlists to spice things up, which can be found on my soundcloud. I'll set it up as a battle between two or three popular artists or one genre of music. And when creating the playlists I get inspiration from my daily life, it may come from a song I hear on the radio or a commercial or movie, sometimes songs will randomly pop into my head that I have to search right away. Spending a solid 60-90 minutes browsing songs is my norm to find new music!
