Near Future

Read the Near Future Interview below and share it on social media.

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

I am Near Future, a 19 years old, mostly EDM (Electronic Dance Music) producer from Croatia. I am just ordinary guy who started making music in 2014 just because I was curious how the music is made. I make whatever I feel like making but it's mostly melodic EDM type of music. It's just style of music I enjoy the most but that doesn't mean I'm not into other genres of music as well. I am still not well-known as a music producer and still don't have some big fanbase but I am really working hard and I believe I can reach out to some audience that will like my music and enjoy it as much as I do. My main goal is not to become famous as a music producer and make a bunch of money of my music but to reach some audience as I said that will like my music and support me as an artist, that would mean the world to me!

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

Well, at first I was really influenced by Big Room House artists such as Showtek, Hardwell, etc and that was actually the reason I started making my own music. So yeah, when I started out making music I was only trying to make big room and I felt somehow like it's the easiest one to begin with when you are still beginner because it was pretty easy and simple genre of EDM to make. But as time went by and I learned more and more about music production I started experimenting with other EDM genres and not only EDM but I got interested in making any genres of music I like. So I would say my taste has changed a lot over time especially because I don't remember when was the last time I tried to make Big Room and I don't even listen to it that much as I used to. Now I am focused on making whatever I feel like but it's mostly melodic EDM type of music as I said and I also experiment with other genres such as Pop, Hip-Hop, etc. I found out that this stlyes I'm most passsionate about and I really enjoy making it.

What´s new right now?

I think I still need to grow a lot as an artist but I am always trying to release as much new music as possible. When it comes to live gigs, unfortunately I don't have any of them yet but that only motivates me to work even harder to reach that goal one day. But as I said I still need to grow a lot as an artist and need to reach some audience and fans that will actually come to my gigs, right?

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?

I'm definitely huge fan of Martin Garrix. I don't know what is so attractive about him but he has really a lot of fans but why I liked him is because he seems so humble, like he is just ordinary guy who is not famous and I love his music, I truly enjoy it!

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

Don't overthink anything and just go for what you want. People usually try to make music that is trend at the moment but don't do that , just make music you like because at the end of the day making music is all about having fun, right? Also I'd say try to dedicate as much time as you can to making music and learing as well and I'm firmly believer that practice makes perfect! So don't be afraid of trial and error method.
