Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hey there! My name is Nightwatch (my friends call me Nick) — I'm a local Seattle DJ, playing everything from bass in small side rooms, to progressive house in large clubs across the city. Musically, it's tough to nail down one particular style I favor, and that's entirely due to the fact that there isn't a genre out there that I don't enjoy. I'm of a belief that limiting yourself to a single genre is like picking your favorite kid as a parent. Every one has its own benefits (and downsides), and learning to play each is integral to becoming a truly well-rounded artist and performer.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I first got into electronic music back in 2010, with the likes of Pretty Lights acting as my doorway into a much larger world of music. Since then, I've found something I love behind virtually every other door. I love the way Eric Prydz tells a subtle story in every set, how Excision's live shows are both a musical experience and a visual spectacle, and especially how local DJs craft their own unique visions of this music to smaller, intimate (and enthusiastic) crowds.
Beyond that, I admire DJs who not only respect other genres outside of their own, but are inspired by them to make their own live shows that much better. Musical diversity is important to me as an artist, and I do my best to let that be evident wherever (and whatever) I'm playing.
What´s new right now?
I just started a brand new mix series called Nick@Night, where I bring in talented Seattle locals from across the city to put their craft on display for all to hear. You stay up on all new episodes of the show here: https://soundcloud.com/nightwatchbass/sets/nick-night
In terms of gigs, I'll be playing at STAGE Nightclub's Bass Therapy night on both January 19th and February 16th. Keep an eye on my Soundcloud page for more too, there's going to be plenty to see in 2018 and beyond!
