Phil Andrews aka Andrew Good

Read the Phil Andrews aka Andrew Good Interview below and share it on social media.

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

39 years old, currently based in Leipzig, East Germany, originally from Frankfurt/Main. Started DJing with vinyl at the age of 15. First time playing as resident in a club with 16, at the official Sunday after hour of the legendary Omen club (Frankfurt/Main) in a small club not far from Frankfurt/Main. During the years switched to Traktor with digital vinyl system, always with Technics SL-12XX MK 2/5. By now the preferred medium is Pioneer CDJ (Club Standard). My style stretches from deep house to tech house, up to techno and house. I don’t play pre-edited sets but adjust my music to the atmosphere at the club/party.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

Back in the 1990s I loved Detroit techno, US house and techno. Around the 2000s it changed to Scandinavian techno (e.g. Adam Beyer, Cari Leckebusch, etc.). After that minimal techno and tech house came into the game. Since 2010 I would describe my style as influenced by techhouse, deep house, techno (e.g. Teenage Mutants, Stil vor Talent artists, Well Done music, Ursl, Solee, Niko Schwind, Hot Science 82, Purple Disco Machine, Einmusic, Kollektiv Ost, Tube and Berger, Suara, Boy next door/Chanel X, Madmotormiguel etc.).

What´s new right now?

DJing is currently more of a hobby for me. However, I’d love to take up some bookings. Releases are being worked on.
