Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hi there people of the world, my name is Chad Eveleigh a.k.a. PsYnapse, and I am a DJ/Producer/Event Promoter and Booking Agent, based in Durban, South Africa.
I have been DJing for 13 years, and producing for the past 4. I specialize in may sub genres of Psychedelic trance, with regards to Djing and production. However, I am a big fan of many different forms of electronic music, and can also diversify with many other different genres, such as techno, progressive house, breaks, tech house, Brazilian bass, etc.
I am signed to Mansion Records (SA), and I am also a team member in AmaDeadly Productions. On top of that, I also host my own events, and handle artist bookings for Open Bookings in Durban.
Music is my life, and my life is music! ?
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My musical influences are rather diverse, ranging from growing up as a young kid in the 90's, where I encountered electronic music. From the mid late 90's, my clubbing days started, and then that's where it all started to really begin – my love & passion for electronic dance music.
A legendary night club in South Africa, called "3-30", helped shape and define my my tastes and influences, to the point where I finally decided to take it upon myself to learn how to DJ, in the hopes of entertaining the masses, and showing them my taste in music. This journey began in 2005, where I got stuck into UK Hard House, and over the course of the next 6 years, I honed my skills, until the end of 2011, where I changed genres to Psychedelic trance as my main focus.
What´s new right now?
At the moment I am working on a remix for well respected artist from Europe, who releases tracks on Blue Tunes Records. The remix should be completed within the next few weeks, and I am hoping that the remix will get a chance to feature on the above mentioned record label. So cross fingers for me on that one!
Besides that, the year is shaping up to be rather busy for me. I have a few national gigs lined up already, and I will also be going across the border of South Africa for Mozamboogy in July, for my 4th appearance there.
And then weekly, I am resident at Origin Night Club in Durban, which gives me regular gigs and keeps me busy.
