Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
I'm Quail and I'm run Animal Farm Records from Glasgow, Scotland. We also double up as a monthly Techno event running mainly from the world renowned Sub Club as well as The Ar School
How would you describe your style and genre?
We are predominantly a Techno focussed label with our releases aimed at DJs and dance floors alike.
Who are your biggest idols ever? Dead or alive, musician or non-musician.
Techno wise, definitely Regis – his whole attitude to his music and aesthetic is very inspiring. Outwith Techno, Kurt Cobain was one from my younger days.
What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
Stop heaping pressure on yourself. I think I always felt I had to make music that people wanted to hear rather than making it for myself. You need to get to a place where you can make whatever you feel and it let it flow freely in an artistic manner
How do you get gigs? Can you share any tips?
Make music, get yourself out there. The rest will follow accordingly.
What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
Definitely making yourself standout in a crowded marketplace. Daring to be different always help to differentiate yourself.
How do you promote yourself? Do you have any specific promotion tips for other musicians?
I make sure what is seen it always the best. I don't compromise on that. The confindemce in yourself translates to others.
We meet again in one year. What has happened?
I'm a year older and hopefully a little wiser ?
