Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is Richard Houblon and i'm a dance producer from the Netherlands. I started producing dance music in the early nighties. With an old computer, Fast tracker software and some cranky samples i discovered producing en DJ-ing was totally my thing! In the next years i produced al lot of music nobody wants to hear but always believed in myself. My music was getting better and people asked me te perform on party's as DJ. The years are counting and i focused more on producing only and setting up my own label for new talent based on the experience of settled producers and DJ's. On January first of 2018 Creationz Digital Records officially was lounged. In the meanwhile my latest production 'Out of the Dark' released in all major stores including Beatport en DJTunes and is a succes on Soundcloud. The start of a great year, a great future…
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
Making Electronic Dance Music is easier to make this days. Buy some software, Sample packs and a midi controller and in no time you have produced a track that’s ready for release. When i started making music, it wasn’t that easy. Today everyone can fix releases by themselves. But to be one of the next world top producers and DJ’s you have to be and do more of that. Perhaps you have to change your sound, and you have to spend all your free time to reach that. I never changes who i am. And i never changed in what i like to do the most. Producing sounds straight from the heart. And music i like and believe in. Stay close to yourself. Listen what your mind says and feels when you produce that sound or beat that tells your own story…
What´s new right now?
There is al lot of new work coming up this year. New tracks and collabs with great producers like Jayapura. But most of the time i will spend on starting up my label Creationz Digital Records.
