I am dropping my debut EP, North Side Legend, March 12th on Soundcloud. It is 9 tracks, one acapella interlude and 8 songs produced by a Portuguese producer named P-Type. This EP is conscious rap taken to a more "radical" level.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

Always put out your best work. Never put out a track that's unmastered. I did and I didn't realize it till weeks later. It was a freestyle over Carti's Magnolia that should've been popular with my fans if it was mastered. I took it down and will now reupload it.

How do you get gigs? Can you share any tips?

Find a promoter in your city and contact him or open for a more popular local artist.

Do you have good promotion tips for other musicians?

I used Social Media and post music to my friends, I network with people whose line of work fits the subject matter of my music such as activists and college professors, I post my music on forums such as Rap Genius.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

My biggest challenge has been to transition from a lyricist to a songwriter. I was used to writing pages worth of lyrics and freestyles but eventually I had to learn how to add hooks, concepts and bar structure. It was tricky at first but I used my influences to get the hang of it.
