Check out and share our RL Beats Interview. This interview is part of our new Producer & Engineer Q&A Series. In this interview series we feature exciting producers, mixing and mastering engineers from all walks of life. As always: Share & Support!
Please introduce yourself real quick. Tell our audience about your background and how you go into doing what you´re doing right now.
I'm a producer from the UK just north of London, i'm 17 years old and have been producing for 6 years now. I've always had a love for music, starting piano from a very young age and sticking with it. Since technolodgy as always intrigued me also i decided to mix the two things i enjoyed and mess around on FL Studio – although i started making genres such as Dubstep, i started to grow to understand production and came up with my own sound, I mainly produce rap beats but tend to mess around with EDM stuff also.
Please tell our audience what projects have you been working on in the last years?
I've been making alot of tracks and have set myself a goal to upload beats consistently throughout the coming years and to work with as many artists as possible, although i haven't sold alot of beats i feel once my fanbase starts growing more (with the help of you!) i'll be able to reach out to more artists and work with very talented people. I believe my work is sub-par and once noticed i'll be able to produce for some very fantastic artists.
What are you currently working on? Do you accept clients and and what kind of projects/work fits your profile?
I'm always looking for artists and other producers to work with as i feel it is a great feeling to hear something i've made with other individuals and love hearing a finished song over my beats. I usually give away the FLPs for my beats as it is a good way to allow the producers that are just starting out to have their hands on a well produced beat so they can see the general trends and how it was made in their own environment rather than watching something like a YouTube tutorial, although i also release those to help people that prefer observing.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
I used to always give up on beats if they werent how i wanted them to sound, rather than learning to create exactly what i have in my head.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
In my personal experience, it was a mix of constant research and watching videos, and practise – the videos and reading up on music theory and other things relating to producing gave me a great advantage as i started to understand what to do from a technological standpoint when i first started producing.
