Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hey guys! This is Samlight, Finnish DJ, music producer and musician. I started my musical career playing piano in 2003 and moved little by little to electronic dance music. Today I produce mostly energetic & melodic house music with big emotions and futuristic vibes. In additions to many other clubs & festivals I also have played at the main stage of Weekend Festival, the biggest EDM festival in the Nordic countries.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
At the young age I was big fan of bands/artists like Phil Collins, Toto, Children Of Bodom, Rainbow and Dream Theater. Especially their keyboard player Jordan Rudess has given me huge inspiration. One day I found popular EDM names like David Guetta and Avicii and that made me try producing dance music. Probably one of the biggest tracks that made me love EDM was "Porter Robinson – Language". Also people around me and all the life situations influences me and through that to the music I create. There are so many inspirational DJ's but at the moment one of my favorites are Don Diablo, Lucas & Steve, Mike Williams, Axwell ? Ingrosso and Galantis.
What´s new right now?
I just released new track "In My Mind" and right now I'm finishing new tunes for later this year. Another huge milestone to me is that I just signed with Spinnin' Records and new music is coming out really soon on Spinnin' Talent Pool -label. Besides my EDM career I'm also recording piano cover videos to my instagram stories (@samlightmusic) actively. Future looks super cool and I'm feeling grateful for all the opportunities and support I have been given!
