Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
I am Siggy Jackson. Half Swede, half American dude of 28 years. I grew up in Sweden and moved to Houston, TX in High School. This duality between has been both a blessing and a curse in my life. I channel this duplexity into my mixture of self-produced electronic beats, and a deep-flowing rhyme scheme. I tell my story and things I have observed in my past. My music comes from a mix of influences. I listen to a lot of different stuff that eventually finds its way into my creative process including house, heavy metal, jazz, blues, and way more!
Now I am living in Örebro (Pennybridge), Sweden. Current day job is working with refugees while I spend most of my free time working in the studio. My productions have strong nuances of old school hip hop and southern trap.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
Music is fluid. For me I flow on the feelings I receive when listening to music. My influences have changed vastly over time. I grew up on rock rap and eurodance. This evolved into heavy metal. I listened to a lot of heavy metal. The feeling in a metal song is so intense and it gives me a high in a way no other music does for me. Plus I am a guitar player at heart. And the technicality of metal guitars attracted me as well. Eventually I got into recording myself playing guitar and started messing around more with the program and recording techniques. My friends were all freestyling at the time whenever we were partying or hanging out. I tried it and fell in love with the whole process. I started making beats for flowing and worked harder on my freestyling and writing. This opened up an obsession with beat making and the whole history of hip hop and its evolution. I fell in love with creating beats and improving the level of my production and writing skills. Eventually I started releasing my own music.
What´s new right now?
I am working on my second EP. Don't have a set date for release yet but keep your eyes peeled around early 2018! Also my website will be up and running before the holidays. There have been a lot of late nights working with my friend DJ Jim and he will be involved in my new project as well as some stuff we are working on together. All that info can be found on my website once it is up!
