Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My names SlimYungMan and I’m originally from Maryland USA but currently live in North Carolina USA. I’m 21 and I’ve been making music for about 6 years. I started off as a rapper but gradually moved into production. I’m apart of a group called Hardknocks. It consists of 6 members. Hardknocks represents our struggle in life. Each one of our members has been through some sort of struggle that led them to music.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
When I was younger I listened to a lot of r&b because that’s what my mom played around me. When I was old enough to look for my old music I listened to a lot of 90’s hip hop. People like Biggie, Nas, wu tang, fugees. Now that I’m older I listen to all types of music from metal to psychedelic rock to house music. You need a wide variety of music taste to be a producer
What´s new right now?
I just released a new album on SoundCloud called Compleks I, the first installment on a instrumental album series. It will be available on Spotify and other outlets soon.
