Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hello, I'm Rob Siefkes and I go under the alias "So Brief." I'm a 20 year old music producer out of Minnesota and currently attending a 2 year technical college for audio production. I'm doing all of my production on my girlfriends laptop on the moment, so don't let anything hold you back from what you love doing.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My influences have definitely changed over the years from different types of genres with dubstep being a definite gateway into the EDM scene. Artists such as Skrillex, Excision, and Datsik where definitely a huge influence on me starting off. From there it lead me in to expanding into all forms of electronic music with House, Trap, Future Bass being some of my favorites today. Recently I've been leaning towards Future Bass and Future Pop with Flume, Louis the Child, San Holo, Medasin, Joe Mason, and DROELOE having huge influences on me. Other forms of influence outside the music scene have to be astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson with helping me achieve different ways of thinking about things. This definitely helps with being creative and coming up with ideas when producing and writing music.
What´s new right now?
Right now I have a new remix coming out this week on Friday November 24th of Halsey's track "Gasoline". I'm always excited about new releases because it gives me the chance to share my progress with my friends and fans. Other than that just constantly learning new things with production and growing my self as a person.
