Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Ez my name is Spraydem, I have also released music under the names Nayben Spraydem, Bthechemist and Backstreet Chemist. I'm an Artist/MC from Doncaster in the UK.
I don't like to pigeon hole myself into one genre but I would say my main overall style is hiphop infused drum and bass (and visa versa). Hiphop and drum and bass/jungle to me contain the same elements as my other influences and 'genres' of music i make such as reggae, dancehall,uk garage and grime etc. As well as recording and releasing music my roots lie in the live element of emceeing, Spitting over drum and bass, grime, uk garage/bass line, hiphop etc at events and on radio around the country and world.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I am influenced by everything i see or hear, as a writer I try to keep my mind as open as possible. Musically I am influenced by the music I have grown up with and continue to grow with, from the soul, rnb, reggae/dancehall, and rap i was introduced to by my parents listening to music. To the hip hop culture that i fell in love with, the countless rave and radio cassette tapes that used to clutter my bedroom, containing jungle, drum and bass, hardcore, uk garage and grime were a massive influence on me, just as much as any of the hip hop artists i love. I am influenced not by 'genres' but by the feeling. "Frequencies as medicine".
What´s new right now?
I will be releasing a project for free download named 'Naybz Odyssey' at the end of December 2017. It is a journey through the different styles that represent me as an artist, on the project I have beats from producers such as Jays 1, Cyber Ninja and more. I also have a few features with other artists coming up so look out for them. How do you personally discover new music?
I like to go to shows/dances and hear artists and djs play music i have never heard before, many times I have discovered artists and songs this way. I also use social media and hours of trawling through youtube and other music sites such as sound cloud and band camp. I like to listen to the radio when i can but nowadays its mainly internet stations, same with magazines I used to love buying magazines such as hiphop connection and undercover to discover new artists, but now i just try and find my way through cyber space. I try my best to find good music not being pushed by the mainstream.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
I like to take time to think about what it is I am trying to create. Before i start to write a track i can hear the track in my head, as I have already meditated on it a few times already. I can write quick, don't get me wrong but i prefer the music where i take my time.
