Read the SweetnSick Interview below and share it on social media.

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

I go by the name "SweetnSick", I am a rising artist from the middle of BC in a smalltown called Castlegar in the Kootenay region. My real name is Brayden Campbell, As it says in my SoundCloud bio 'https://soundcloud.com/sweetnsick-s'. I love mixing all kinds of genres of music when i play live but mostly aim for more heavier sets, unless its daytime or super deep into the night then ill play more mellow music. I produce super chill future bass and trap music and experiment with Dubstep and other heavy genres, but most of my releases are chill. My goal with production is to make the track sound unique and emotional, not sound like a mainstream song, i like to come up with my own style. When I'm Dj'ing at a show i like to take the crowd through an adventure of different styles of edm, I like to start off with a huge bang to get everyone engaged and dancing, then i like to mellow out then end the set with an even bigger bang. I love doing what i do and i never want to stop doing it, One time an artist said to me "Out of everyone who listens to your music, you're bound to change at least one of them" If that makes any sense to you, It means that there's always someone out there who will listen to your music and love it and change their prospective on this growing style.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

My biggest inspiration is the artist/dj "Excision". Back in 2010 i listened to his Shambhala mix from that year and it completely changed my prospective on music. I loved it, I wanted to do what he did. So what i did was got a laptop and downloaded virtual dj, and mixed non stop. Eventually i got into producing music, i diddn't really have anyone inspire me to produce music, i just wanted to make my own music, my uncle lent my dad his computer and he had Ableton live on it and i asked him to teach me how to produce (Im 13 at this point) He walked me through the basics and it took years of tinkering around and figuring out how to use ableton. Eventually i learned how to make huge supersaw sounds like "Xilent, Seven Lions, Virtual Riot, Illenium, etc.." My biggest inspiration for my music production today is Illenium, He is the one who inspired me to make melodic Dubstep. Another influence is my friends and fans, whenever people compliment me on my music i get super happy and emotional, its such an amazing feeling, It is by far the biggest reason I've never given up.

What´s new right now?

I have a bunch of remixes and tracks I'm working on that will be released throughout 2018. I will be playing at clubs around the Kootenays throughout 2018. I will be playing at a couple of music festivals but unfortunately I'm not authorized about talking about them.

Right now I'm working my hardest on music production and so far its getting better and better, I'm trying new things and it is working! Like i said earlier, my biggest goal is to change people prospective on EDM, rather that being just a handful, to a lot of people!
