Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
The CEE (Real Name : Mutinye Cassim) is a Dj/Music Producer and Song writer from Uganda in East Africa.
Born in Mbale, raised in Kampala, and forever a Ugandan full breed, Dance Music has been an influence in his life since the early 2000's. Known for not showing his face on social media platforms, The CEE is well versed with the field of electronic Music but not forgetting his dancehall , reggae and hip hop roots. Finding a blend between afro beat and Techno. The producer and DJ has released singles and remixes of songs ranging from foreign sources to home grown sources.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
His sound tends to diverse between electronic elements and African rhythm and most of His influences have come from the two, His sound has of course evolved due to more experimentation and extra influences e.g Bollywood music , Kpop, Asian Trap and south African House.
Dubstep is a major influence to him along side Glitch and Japanoise .
Growing up in Uganda he taught himself music production and DJeing.
Now he blends genres in order to get his sound, leaving you in the dance mood but still keeping the high energy .
What´s new right now?
Currently his working on his new EP (Alienated) which is to debut mid 2018 but has singles and remixes available on his Sound Cloud.
Big things are bound to come from Uganda's own home grown Dance Music Producer & DJ.

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?
Am a super fan of 3 people . Calvin Harris, Skrillex & Kanye West.
I discovered Calvin harris on My Space in 2006 and i loved his music and told people about it but i became a super fan after he dropped the am not alone single and video it was like watching a plant or flower grow and blossom.
As for Skrillex a friend of mine told me about him after his scary monsters and nice spirits EP in 2012 and i have been a super fan of his sound design, mixing and mastering since day 1.
For Kanye West its been a day 1 super fan life since Jesus Walks its been a ride for me listening to his change of sound and creativity behind sampling and making old melodies sound an new , Plus he has the maddest bars aka " wait till i get my money right." his a genius.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
Biggest mistake was trying to be some one else. Imitation is the death of creativity.
Tip:
Do your best to be you. Don't imitate anyone find your self then pull ur crowd by being you.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
Biggest Challenge is breaking into the international market. and i havent been able to over come it.

How do you personally discover new music?
Usually from Sound Cloud and Youtube is where i discover new music and also music videos on Tv

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?
“Yes, i do this by sharing the song on my social media or send a link to my close friends. Plus i play the music in my Dj sets.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
Mix at a low level and try and make sure the high end is audible but not distorting.

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?
The best tip to finish a track is work on it till your comfortable. dont worry about other peoples opinion . one mans meat is another mans poison.

We meet again in one year. What has changed?
Yes in the next 12 months we shall be performing at Nyege Nyege Festival which is one of the biggest festivals in East Africa and shall be releasing a few singles and my Ep.
