Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
I'm a fan and DJ of the music I play. I've spent the last 20 years amassing a collection of what I feel to be the best records that have come out and fit into my niche tastes. I'm always willing to share what I've learned and do so on a daily basis. From running a vinyl based record label, to a 14+ year running live 'net broadcast, to daily classic record shares on Instagram and local events. Whatever I can do to further the awareness, I'll do.
How would you describe your style and genre?
I call what I play Techno. I'm intentionally broad with my labels. I don't want to fall victim to sub-genres and the like as it's is a hole easily fallen into. I play all over the map of what others call House, Techno and Electro though. heavily influenced by Detroit, Chicago, Sweden, Toronto and the Brighton scenes. I appreciate the oddball stuff. I appreciate the stuff with a sense of humour.
Who are your biggest influences and idols … and why? Do you have any idols? Are you a super fan of anyone? (Dead or alive, musician or non-musician)
I don't consider any of the artists I buy as people to idolize. We're all just people. There are people who tend towards the good and people who tend towards ..lesser good. The artists I buy all seem to tend toward the good. I know them and have socialized with most of them at some point, or spent years talking with them. Good people who happen to make great tunes. As people who all communicate regularly with each other we influence each other I'm sure, but not in the way I feel is meant with this question.
