Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is Martin. I was born in Cali, Colombia. Growing up I discovered my passion for music after learning to play the piano. Later on, after going to my first electronic concert, I felt the desire and curiosity to learn how to create those sounds. I soon started to learn by myself how to use Fl Studio. Since then, I have developed my own sound by incorporating influences from other genres. I am currently pursing an Industrial Engineering degree, and during summers, I take music courses at Berklee College of Music. Studying Engineering and having a passion for music production can be challenging, but at the end its worth it.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years? Do you feel that changing tastes over years as artistic growth? ?
Over the years, my taste for music has evolved. Before, when the boom of electronic music began, I used to listen a lot of Progressive House and Big Room. My inspiration came from artists like Avicii and Swedish House Mafia. Nowadays, I find inspiration on other genres including Reggaeton, Pop and old school Reggae. In order to innovate and find your own sound, it is important to listen and appreciate different genres. For me, it doesn't matter what genre I am listening to, because at the end music is a universal language. Lately, I have been finding artists through Spotify playlists and DJ sets.
What´s new right now?
I have a release coming up this month, on the label Deep Sounds by Artist Intelligence. It has both House and Deep House influences. It will be released across all platforms so stay tuned!. At the moment I am collaborating with other artists and vocalists. Collaborating for me is important because it fuels my creativity and passion. Although I enjoy collaborating, I have many originals on the way. They will be released in 2018 on some major labels.
