Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hello. MY name is Trizzoh. My project name is influenced by my real name, Joey Petrizzo. I am just a 26 year old normal guy working a 9 to 5 job (or in my case a 7 to 3) i. I was born and raised on Long Island. My love for music started at an early age when I was a young child listening to Bruce Springsteen in the car with my mom. Her love for Bruce eventually became our love for Bruce. It wasn't till middle school when I got my first taste of electronic music. I remember on youtube hearing "techno" remixes of popular songs and would listen to those remixes all the time. I always liked electronic music but my love for it came when I was a senior in high school. That was the same year that Skrillex released Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. That album blew my mind and I would listen to it every single day. Shortly after that I started messing around with mashups and creating mixes. In 2013 I went to Ultra Music Festival in Miami and that was a life changing experience for me because I knew that I was having fun listening to my favorite music but the people that were having the most fun were the artists on the stage performing their music to thousands of people. As soon as I got back from Ultra I started taking taking music theory classes and ableton classes at Dubstpot NYC. So from 2015 through the end of 2016 I just attempted to make good music on ableton but that was ahuge fail. It was not until early 2016 when I was able to have my first original track signed to a label. Looking back now even my earliest releases still make me cringe. Mid way through 2017 I started to to transition from a tribal/jungle style to a move groovy and bass driven style. As of now I am very content with my sound and the production quality of my tracks. That does not mean that I am not trying to learn something new everyday. I will always be striving towards a better sound and hopefully one day more people will come across my sound and join me on this journey that I am taking.
If you want to check out my music you can just search Trizzoh on basically any music platform. Spotify and soundcloud are the best ways to find my music.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I have many influencers because before I was an artist, I was a fan. Some key influences are Skrillex because of Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. My sound has never been similar to his sound but that doesn't mean he did not influence my sound. Also artists like Eric Prydz, Feenixpawl, Morgan Page, Gregor Salto, and Fedde Le Grand. My taste was changed quite a few times. I have always loved tracks with tribal drums in them so I did a lot of tribal sounds in my earlier releases. For some reason my musical taste changed from a tribal vibe to a groove vibe. That is where I still am today. I also love to produce techno but in an attempt to not confuse my followers I started a new project to release my techno tracks. I release techno under my real name Joe Petrizzo. I also just started a third project called Pull & Return so I can release some progressive house and Big Room tracks. I miss the sound of the beautiful progressive house from 2012 and I hope to revive that sound with my new Pull & Return project.
What´s new right now?
As for right now as Trizzoh, I have 2 releases coming out to start 2018. I have a remix of a classic house track coming out in late January and I have an original being released in February on Digital Empire Records. I plan on releasing one track every month for 2018. As for live gigs I do not have an upcoming shows. I live in Long Island and the New York club scene is very political. The Djs that get booked to open or close for the big guys at the night clubs are the Djs who can promote the event the most. The clubs book the same guys over and over based on the people they bring in. I can not blame the clubs for that because Its smart in a business sense but I work 8-10 hours a day at a real job and when I come home I would prefer to spend my time working on music and building myself as an artist instead of just promoting events. So as for now the only stuff that I have to look forward to is the releases of my music that I put my heart and soul into.
