Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My names Tyler Anthony Stout, but I currently go under the artist name Tyler Rhodes. I have always been a big music fan since I was born. My mom raised me on the rock and metal music she grew up on and down the line I found my love for hip hop. That love has evolved into a love for music and art in all forms. Music has helped me through some tough times in my life and I know this is what I'm going to do in life. I've been producing music for about a year and a half now, and I am getting ready to start fresh with a new SoundCloud and a 10 track mixtape. My influences currently range from artists like Zach Hill, Outkast, MF DOOM, Billie Eillish, and several others. I have a different account for my amateurish beats that I was making for a class I took, but my new page will have music going up soon so be on the lookout for Tyler Rhodes on all platforms. How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My taste has definitely changed over the years. I used to mainly fuck with bands like Metallica and Anthrax until about 4th grade. That was the first time I really obsessed with a group that wasn't making rock music. It's pretty funny because it was Three 6 Mafia that really put me into rap, AND I WAS LIKE 10. Pharrell's In My Mind really cemented my love for music when I was younger. Since then I have done a lot of genre jumping, but I still go back and listen to everything I was into. As of right now I would say Billie Eillish and Joji are big influences for me. I'd say I have pretty great taste.
What´s new right now?
I am working on a ten track mixtape that I'll be rapping on and have produced with help from Marui Midnight. I'll also be collaborating with him on a short film later on this year. Big things this year. Don't forget about Rhodes.

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?
I'm a Kanye super fan until I die. That goes for Cudi and Frank Ocean as well. I love Kevin Abstract's solo work with a passion. DOOM has definitely been up there as well. I'm actually going to get DOOM mask tatted soon.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
I was really making weird shit when I started out and I loved it. My biggest mistake was taking a break from working on music for a bit. I didn't want to, it just happened and I sort of lost that spark I had before. My advice is to make sure you keep your setup ready whenever so it doesn't seem like a challenge to work on music.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
My biggest challenge is producing and writing at the same time. I approach production with a different mindset and that just creates a challenge when it's finished and it's time for me to write some bars.

How do you personally discover new music?
Whenever I feel like I want to hear something fresh I usually will check out random shit that's recommended on SoundCloud or look in the related artists page on Spotify. SoundCloud really is the spot to find gems before anyone else. I've found some really great artists that get hardly any plays, but continue to put out amazing work because it's what they love.

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?
“I usually try to put people to whatever I find. I try to play it on the aux to see what reaction it'll get. Sometimes I really want to keep an artist to myself though if that makes sense. I create this connection with the artist and hate to see some people taint it for me. I know that's a toxic way to view things, but I can't help it. It's like that kid from Charlie Brown that has the blanket, I just don't want people touching my blanket.
