Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Much love to you all. I go by the name of Vash Da Stampede pronounced Vash The Stampede like the character from the Trigun anime. I'm an up and coming hip-hop artist from Tyler, Texas, and 1/2 of the 903 Outlaws as well as the co-founder circa 2010. I love hip hop music and the culture, and just want to represent it in the right way. I really got serious about it back in the latter part of 2010 going into 2011. I enrolled in Mediatech Institute, a recording arts school in Irving, TX in 2011 to study audio engineering and fell in love with the process. I'm 27 yrs old
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My influences are all over the place as far as regions and style. Being from Texas i grew up on a lot of southern hip hop like UGK, 8 Ball & MJG, Outkast, Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Trae Tha Truth, Master P & No Limit, Cash Money & the Hot Boyz. The first album i purchased at age 11 were Nelly's Country grammar and Nas's Stillmatic. East coast hip hop has influenced me out as well. Nas, Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Fabolous, Cassidy, Wale, Beanie Siegel, Dj Premier, MF Doom to name a few. The midwest and west coast as well with artist like Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Snoop and the Dogg Pound, and Ice Cube, 2PAC, Missy Elliot & Timberland. R&B music has also been influencer even though i don't sing. Being born in the early 90s i heard a lot dope R&B, artist like Soul 4 Real, Jagged Edge, Aaliyah, Tyreese, Erykah Badu, D'Angelo etc.
What´s new right now?
Myself as well the other 903 Outlaw co-founder Impala Boy will be putting together some visuals for our upcoming EP. Its not titled at the moment but it will be available soon. The first visual will be for "Shots Fired" which is available for free download via our soundcloud page. We will also have merch available for the this project as well.
