Question:Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Answer: I am a 20 year old DJ/Producer/Remixer from Glasgow, Scotland. I run a podcast on the third Friday of every month. I make remixes of well known songs for to bring a spark into my DJ sets when playing live as well as making my own songs and mashups.
Question: How would you describe your style and genre?
Answer: I would say my main genre is Big Room House but I am also known to play subground, trance and the harderstyles! Anything big and euphoric tends to work with me!
Question: Who are your biggest idols ever? Dead or alive, musician or non-musician?
Answer: I would have to say Tiesto is my biggest idol. Not for his music nowadays but from his trance career. The ability to make tracks that are still classics 20 years and still be one of the biggest DJs and Producers takes skill, especially being able to make music that touches you in an emotional level. This is something I try to achieve with my tracks and remixes! To have someone listen to a song and have it affect them emotionally is the dream!
Question: What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
Answer: I would say my biggest mistake was not actually knowing how to work DAWs and Plugins as well as not knowing how to structure and make proper songs. So, I would say my number one tip would be to use YouTube tutorials, buy books, go to courses and workshops, because once you have the knowledge of how to work it then it’s easier to make all your ideas happen!
Question: How do you get gigs? Can you share any tips?
Answer: I tend to just message promoters/clubs with your stuff and eventually you will get something. Also promote that you are available for gigs, put up lots of mixes get people liking what you do, show of your skills if a promoter sees the skill and sees the audience you have then you have a higher chance of getting booked! Just don’t spam promoters, be in their face just don’t be annoying.
Answer:Just now my biggest challenge is time and coming up with a new way to get people intrigued with me as an artist. I’m trying to introduce new live aspects in my mixes and the ability to play my own tracks and remixes live!
Question: How do you promote yourself? Do you have any specific promotion tips for other musicians?
Answer: I use every form of social media under the sun! Hashtags on social media sites can draw people in, frequently post stuff, always have your websites on things that you do, get business cards and hand them out to people at the event! Live streaming is also a great way for people to see your skills from the comfort of their home!
Question: We meet again in one year. What has happened?
Answer: Hopefully a lot! I’m hoping to have a full live act available for events by next year! And hopefully get more gigs around the country! Maybe even a few releases! Your Website
