Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is Wadie Maroudi, I have been DJing for most of my life, I started collecting cassette tapes when I was kid and I was really drown by the fact that I can mix my favorite songs in 1 mixtape, I bought my first mixer in the early 90s and started mixing all different genres of music from pop to hip hop to rock … my friends liked them so much that i started selling them, it felt good to make a few bucks at young age while pursuing my passion. A few years later I started organizing high school parties, I literally typed a quick "flyer" in MS Word, and printed a few "tickets" and that was huge success, the parties were so packed that people tried to sneak in for free. The rush of playing in front of the crowd was amazing and I have been hooked since. My passion from music only grew stronger since, I saved every penny I could to get new gear and come up with new mixes, remixes, mashups … after graduating high school, I stated DJ'ing in college and small venues, gradually moving to bigger venues.
Growing up listening to all kind of genres I was attacked to electronic instrument (synths, horns …) which led me to house music, first time I heard it I was blown away, my love for electric music kept growing since, it was always primarily house but gradual started experimenting with other genres i.e techno, drum and bass, the weirder it get the better ?
I always wondered if I could come up with my own signature sounds, that's when I got my hands on a sampler and that changed my whole attitude toward music, that fact that I can make my own beats felt magical. Started making a few songs to play at parties and give away, the response was amazing, I loved all the feedback and support and decided to take my passion more seriously. That's when I released my first official song "Let me see you" it was signed by the first label I send it to and the rest is history ?
Although I spent most of my adult life in the US, I am proud of my Moroccan/North African heritage, which is a big part of my musical influence which an be heard particularly in one my releases "African Queen"

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
Believe it or not, I was a hip hop head in the early stages of musical carrier, I was a big fan of ATCQ, Wu Tang … I also experimented with the Disco, Jazz … and eventually focused mainly on House music
What´s new right now?
YES! I recently released my first Album ever, it is called "Contrast" which describes the Album perfectly. I made so many songs throughout the years some released some not, Contrast includes my best tracks which do not necessarily fall under the same category, some are EDM some are big room, there are even 2 funk songs on there as well as other styles. I collaborated with different vocalists throughout the Album Eddie and Bobby are favorite vocalists … here is the link to the Album:
