Check out and share our Willy Interview. This interview is part of our new Producer & Engineer Q&A Series. In this interview series we feature exciting producers, mixing and mastering engineers from all walks of life. As always: Share & Support!
Please introduce yourself real quick. Tell our audience about your background and how you go into doing what you´re doing right now.
Just a small-town boy with big dreams. I started making music when I was in middle school. I started off on a program called Garage Band. I would take the basic samples and try to make a full song out of them. When I was about 15 I was able to buy a program called Fl Studio and that's where I really started to get into the music scene. I was always on YouTube trying to find videos on making beats and samples. Fast forward 4 years later and I'm still making music with my friends and expanding. I'm always looking to improve my music and help others achieve their dreams.
Please tell our audience what projects have you been working on in the last years?
When I first started making music I was heavily into Dubstep. I noticed as time went on how it was starting to fade so I quickly changed my focus to something new. However, I didn't want it to be like the "Mainstream" sound of electronic music. I wanted to make something unique. I started to make melodic music and I was really fascinated with Jersey Club music. I took those two concepts and put them together to make whats now known as Future Bass, or "Lovetrap." I'm always open to new ideas and I'm constantly trying to improve. That's what I love about music. It's always changing and there's always room to better yourself. Not only as a producer, but also as an artist.
What are you currently working on? Do you accept clients and and what kind of projects/work fits your profile?
Recently I've been getting into R&B and Hip-Hop. I'm not necessarily working on anything that involves R&B or Hip-Hop, but I always keep an open mind to new projects and ideas. I'm a producer and I'm always looking for new people to work with. I like to keep my options open as far as the genre of music I'm making, but I generally tend to stick to Future Bass/Hip-Hop. Feel free to get in touch with me anytime for any questions about music or producing. i'm always happy to help!

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
If I could give any advice to those struggling trying to make music, I would say to go to YouTube. It's a great way to learn how to make samples and other helpful tips that you might need to make that one perfect sample.

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?
If you're having a hard time trying to figure out how to end a track I would recommend that you take a quick step away from it. Give it time. Don't try to force an ending to a song. Sometimes a quick step away from a song can re-inspire you.
