Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

I'm Donovan, a.k.a "Z8phyR". I'm from Oklahoma, and have been involved with music since about 2005 – taking it seriously in the winter of 2015. My deepest passion in producing is to make melodic progressive tunes, with a strong emphasis on the melodic content. It's always a blessing and a privilege to contribute something of the scene to give you a hopeful feeling in life and a cool breeze of positivity with happiness.
Since then I've released with many labels of this genre – including Midnight Coast, Synth Connection, Soluna Music, and more to come…
You can find my latest release here:

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

I originally started with hip-hop music production in FL Studio, with a strong influence in sampling chops to a beat. Since I've grown over the years, I have been consistently drawn to the electronic scene where the focus on melodies and atmosphere began to capture my attention wholeheartedly.
Upon discovering the music of legends like Roald Velden, Shingo Nakamura, and Valentin – it really motivated me to pursue my talents into the path of melodic house.

What´s new right now?

I've got releases still lined up to come throughout the rest of this year, including some fantastic collaborations with very fantastic artists.
The best way to support me is to just drop me a follow on Soundcloud, or Facebook. Any little bit always helps.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

Steering the direction of my life from working full-time at a different job – into working music full time.
I don't know what I should be doing, but I'm still working on that challenge.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?

Best advice I can offer is to consistently create music on a weekly basis. Call it finished and move on to the next one and finish it the next week.
Your goal should be 52 songs a year.
Listen to your favorite artist – song, many times and learn the recipe of their structure.
