Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hi, my name is Zombz69, and I am a DJ Producer from Chandler, Arizona. What can I say I music! My music genre style is pretty diverse, I have made Trance songs, DeepHouse songs, BassHouse songs, FutureBass songs, and FutureHouse songs. I like having a diverse style of genres to play with when making music, it gives it a rich a background, and you never know when you're going to come up with something entirely new when you mess around with different genres. I love making music people can vibe to, and dance to. Especially when I'm feeling really inspired from listening to so many songs, and if I find one particular genre sounding really good I try to incorporate that into my music, and mash it up to create something new. For the most part I mess around with DeepHouse, FutureHouse, BassHouse, and FutureBass genres just because personally those are my favorite. I love EDM as well, there isn't a genre I don't touch, and if I haven't touched it I will learn it and take it apart and create something from my own style out of it. Some of my music is basic, but I think it's good to go back to basics, and keep it simple you know? I started messing around with music back in 2006, I was 16 when I found this music mixing, and creating site called Club Create. I messed around with it, and found that I loved making music from samples, and scratch sounds I made on my own. It was a really simple tool to use considering everything was there for me to put together as I please. Then I found FL Studios, and played around with that learned as much as I could. That's when I started really making music, and getting into the scene discovering new artists, and genres. So it's been a long time now that I have been producing music. I did however take a break for a long period of time to focus on school, and of course work. So it would be about 5-6 years before I got back into the music scene and creating new music again. I still use the same name I did from when I was 16. I eventually found a distribution, and label company called Amuse Records who have helped me get out there, and out my music out for the world to listen to. It was really exciting when I saw my music across all digital store platforms, and seeing how people reacted to them. I have alot to learn still, and I have yet to play shows. I'm still learning how to use audio decks such as drum pads, and midi tools, so if I ever do get to do shows I'd be really screwed haha! Here I am though making music, people sharing it, and loving the music I make, and it makes me really happy. I want to make the world a happy place when they listen to my music. I've released several singles, and one EP. Trance On EP, and Tropical Summer Single, Magic Carpet Single, Pixel Space Single, Fantasy Scape Single etc. You can check them out on my Spotify page or iTunes, Apple music, SoundCloud whatever you use.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
Well I have had many influences in my years of making music. When I first got into Electronic music, it was Techno. I listened to DJ's like Tiesto, Darude, Benny Benassi, Infected Mushroom, Bass Hunter to name a few. Those artist influenced me so much as a teenager, and I knew when I listened to them that I wanted to make music like them. They helped me get a better love and understanding for the music that was being made then, and being made now. I was absolutely in love with Tiesto, and Bass Hunter though. Their style of music was always so melodic, and smooth for me. The way they would use synths to create vocals in it's own nature that created the song was so amazing, I loved it! As I grew older of course I got into more artists, like DJ Snake who has been around a long time, and not alot of people realize that. I was also into a lot of Metal as a teenager, Born Of Osiris, Amongst Kings, Darkness Before Dawn, Irish Front, Suicide Silence etc. They Influenced me alot too, showing me that it was okay to be myself, and that making music that was something other than what a lot of the mainstream artists were making was okay. They helped me break out of my shell, and deal with a lot of pain I had growing up with only one parent, who worked very hard to give me the things I needed growing up so I didn't have alot as a child. All I had was the music, and it helped me through so much, and kept me in check, and kept my mind from losing itself. As years went on I got into Skrillex, which is funny because I knew him when he was in the Band From First To Last which I listened to alot when I was younger, and when I found out Sonny was Skrillex I flipped, and that's when I got into Dubstep! His new style of music that was completely different from his band work blew my mind. The heavy wobbles, and drum and bass was unbelievably amazing! That's when I wanted to make music even more, and I was so inspired to do so I started using FL Studios to create my own dubstep which wasn't all that great at the time. All of these artists growing up listening to them taught me one thing, and that was to follow my dreams, because somewhere at some point they were like me just starting out not knowing what they were doing, and they had to learn like me. They taught me to never give up on my goal and dream of making music, they taught me it was okay to be myself, to push my love for music into a career I would love doing every day of my life. They helped me so much through good times, and bad times. I feel in some way a part of me is not just doing this for myself, but as a way to repay them for the good their music brought to my life, for helping me in my career today. Today my influences are the same, with the added artists like Just A Gent, San Hold, Marshmello, Slushi, Thief, Ookay, Borgore, Borgeous, Yellow Claw etc. Those guys have set the bar for music today and their influence has greatly pushed me to meet the bar they set. My biggest influencer now is my girlfriend too, she has pushed me so much to keep making music, and has been the biggest supporter of my career choice. She has been there when I wanted to give up, because I lost motivation for it when I was going through rough times. She has always been there for me, and knows my potential in the music scene of what I could do with it. She is one of my biggest fans actually, and I love her to death! I love you Jazmin!
