Noizekid – Mexican Moombahton straight from the deep south.

noizekidStraight from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico comes newcomer Noizekid an upcoming Moombahton producer and DJ.  With more bass than you can shake a stick at his Electro-fuelled stompers should rock any dancefloor.

Q: Who are you?
Omar Ivan Chapa Trujillo a.k.a Noizekid!
Q: The Beginnings – When did you start making electronic music?
When i was 11 i started to search how the electronic music was created so, i find about a software called “Ejay” that uses just pre-recorded loops, and then i meet REASON 3 and im still using that software till now!
Q: What or who inspired you?
My first encounter with EDM was when my brother Oscar Chapa bought a mixed cd by ATB i don’t remember the album title but i loved the whole mix, and it was funny cuz he hates EDM and he just bought the cd cuz he just liked the first track “Zombie Nation – Kernkraft 400” but… i was playing the cd every day cuz i loved the entire set 🙂 so basically i started to get inspiration by artist like ATB, Dj Jean, Gigi D´Agostino, Blank & Jones, Woody Van Eyden, Mellow Trax, etc… then like 3 years ago i met Moombahton and i decided to focus on that genre! Munchi was my first encounter with Moombah.
Q: How was your grasp of the audio engineering & production at this time? How did you learn producing? Is it all self taught, from the internet and tutorials or mentors and teachers?
Q: Tell us about your setup.
Are you using mostly software or hardware these days?

Just Reason and my 2 KRK 6′ Studio Monitors.
Q: What are your five favorite instrument and effect plugins?
Thor, Maelstrom, Mclass Compressor, NN19, and the Combinator from Reason.
Q: Who are the artists who have influenced you the most right now?
Munchi, JWLS, Morrison, Naffz, Hoodie, 2Deep, and basically… all of the oldschool reggaeton artist.
Q: What is your typical work schedule like?
I just sit here and open Reason when i have a good idea, lol
Q: How do you promote your music?
Are there any music promotion services you can recommend?
Just Soundcloud, but thanks to all the blogs that helps promoting me every time i upload a new track!
Q: How do you distribute your music? Are there any digital distribution services that worked for you which you can recommend to our readers?
Like i said, just Soundcloud and some Music Blogs
Q: What social media or websites do you use for music promotion
Facebook and Soundcloud, thats all
Q: Let´s talk about djing and live gigs. Do you remember your first gigs? How were your first experiences with finding and playing gigs.
Well… just asking every damn time till they give me the opportunity in a bar, and then they loved me 🙂
Q: Was it complicated finding a booking agency or clubs to play at and how were the first gigs received? What´s it like on tour for you?
The scene here in my city (Nuevo Laredo, MX/Laredo US) its dead and they just grab the djs that play for free and stuff like that, or just the favorites or friends of the owners that they say they are “djs”
Q: If you could only take one piece of gear on the road with you besides your laptop, what would it be?
My KRK´S of course, i dont need anything more.
Q: What is your favorite animal?
Every big bird 🙂
Q: What would your personal dream life look like?
Like every Dj… travel, play, get drunk, make moombahton every time i can, things like that 🙂
Q: And what would be your worst nightmare scenario in life?
Every time people ask for music that i cant play in a specific place and they ask you like every 5 minutes for the song, thats a nightmare for me.
In a parallel universe

Q: If you weren’t a musician, what would you be and why?
mmmm good question, cant answer, i just cant see another life without music.
The Future

Q: When we interview you in one year, where do you see yourself?
I think i will still working hard for what i want, this is a long trip and i think i need more than a year to make a progress here.

Do you have anything to add?
