Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Hello there!

Well first of all, thank you so much to everyone who is taking time reading my interview, I really appreciate! My name is Adam and I am a London based house DJ and producer. My career has began many years ago when my older DJ brother introduced me the art of mixing back in my home country Hungary. At first I didn't get it serious but then I was getting more and more interested and very inspired by my country’s famous DJ duos called Muzzaik and Stadiumx. After watching and listening to their DJ sets I just felt like, we only live once and this is what I want to do so I have to give a chance to make this happen! The years were passing and I totally fell in love with house music and the art of DJing so in 2014 I decided to take things seriously. I knew that the UK is one of the main homes of house music and the right place to be as an upcoming DJ so this is why I have moved to London to improve my mixing skills at the Point Blank Music School which is commonly acknowledged as the #1 Electronic Music School in the UK. After taking a full DJ course there at the end of 2015, I had been working really hard every day, kept building my contacts and spent a whole winter practising to be ready for the season of 2016. Then in the April of 2016 I got a massive opportunity and made my debut at the world famous and legendary Ministry of Sound Club in London which has been one of my biggest dreams since I embarked on my musical journey. I remember years ago sitting at home in my bedroom in Hungary and watching the live streams from the club on Friday and Saturday nights dreaming about that one day I may will play there. I have become a massive fan of the club, listening to their radio day and night so actually it became a life goal of mine to play at the Ministry of Sound and with lots of hard work since then I managed to play there many times that I still can't believe. After an incredibly successful debut there, I had since been asked to play there regularly every month for different third party promoters and labels including the big rooms. Then this had been followed by making debuts at other massive London based clubs like Egg London, Fabric and Fire as well as a successful debut in Ibiza at prestigious venues like Savannah Bar, Ibiza Rocks or Es Paradis. Just to mention a few names, I have already played alongside big names like Andrew Rayel, Arno Cost, ATB, Ben Gold, Bombossa Brothers, Boris Brejcha, Camilo Franco, Citizenn, Claptone, Dave Seaman, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman, Doorly, Dubvision, Enzo Siffredi, Erik Hagleton, Gabriel & Dresden, Henry Saiz, Hernan Cattaneo, Junior J, Kryder, Marc Romboy, Mark Revee, MaRLo, Third Party, Tom Staar, Trilucid, Tristan D and the list goes on..

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

I guess this is that part of the interview that is always my favourite one and where I can talk about my role models haha. It is always my pleasure to talk about these guys as them and their music gave me a lot of motivation since the beginnings! So as I already mentioned earlier, at the beginnings I got inspired a lot by 2 of the the most famous DJ duos of my country Hungary that is Muzzaik and Stadiumx. Both of them are like real role models in my country to all the upcoming DJs and producers. Well, basically while Muzzaik is about club house, the Stadiumx guys are called and known as the kings of progressive house. Their platinum record track "Howl At The Moon" has always given me a lot of inspiration. Say whaat? Did I mention progressive house? Yes I did and before you would ask, I like listening to any kind of music that makes me feel good and dancing but as a club DJ obviously I am more involved into tech house, house and deep house and these are the styles that are really close to my heart and I like playing as a DJ. From this comes that Toolroom Records and Defected Records are two of my favourite labels and both are very close to my heart. I remember listening to Mark Knight 10 years ago at the age of 15.. I just managed to meet him at the last Toolroom Live party at Egg London and imagine, he was supposed to start his set at 4:30 in the morning and instead of starting his set he was having a chat and taking pictures with me at that time. To be honest I was a bit worried about going there to meet him minutes before his set was supposed to start but he told me then how much he appreciates this moment and how happy that we met. Such a nice guy, a real legend! Darius Syrossian is also an artist I must mention as I respect him a lot both as an artist and as a person. So to answer the question, Stadiumx, Mark Knight and Darius Syrossian are 3 of those very top artists while Toolroom and Defected Records are 2 of those record labels who has had a massive influence on me since the beginnings, I respect all of these guys on the highest levels both as an artist and as a person, I love their music a lot and really looking up to them a lot but of course there are so many other artists I love and respect a lot just to mention one is Roger Sanchez because of his mixing skills or Don Diablo because of the way he treats his fans.. there are just so many amazing people in this industry, each of us is unique because of a little something and even if we play different genres as an artist but the music connects us all together and this is what it is all about!

What´s new right now?

Well, the question is given that what else to come for me after already had the chance playing the biggest clubs of the UK and accomplished one of my biggest dreams playing at the world famous and legendary Ministry of Sound in London. To be honest, I have already accomplished much more I have ever dreamt about but can't sit back and relax, just feel like there is a lot more in myself to show to the world. I have a lot of plans in my mind right now for the upcoming years and will work very hard to accomplish them then will see what I can make happen from them. This year DJing will be a bit back in the background as I am all about learning music production and focusing only on this as just realised how important key music production is in becoming a successful artist in these days.. seriously just very hard to make a name as an upcoming artist in these days without producing and releasing those great bangers! If things go well, I would like to take part of Toolroom Records' Toolroom Academy later this year to put my music production skills to the next level. I am also happy to say that now I am a pretty much regular at iconic Cafe Mambo Ibiza's UK tour playing the London dates all year long at McQueen Shoreditch so would like to say a big thanks to both Cafe Mambo and TAKE London for letting me to play there regularly. I am also working very hard to return to the party island Ibiza for some gigs later this year and working my ass down to make a debut at Amsterdam Dance Event this October!

Want to stay updated about my upcoming gigs? Just check out my social media links below to stay in touch and give me a follow then! Thank you for your time reading my interview and hope to see you soon at a gig of mine!

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?

Omg such a question! Of course I am a superfan, we all are and we all have idols and people we love and respect the most! As I mentioned before I am a massive fan of Stadiumx, Mark Knight and Darius Syrossian! I have long and personal stories with each of them but just would be too long to tell you guys now but trust me, I respect these guys for a reason!

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

Well, I am just still about learning music production and getting my production skills there where I want them to be so can't really answer to this question but a mistake I made, I wish I would have started to learn music production much earlier! It is just very important to release your own music to make a name in these days!

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

To get my music production skills on that level where I want them to be! Definitely the biggest challenge of being an artist is to reach a level in music production when you finally are able to put what is in your head into the DAW software and express yourself by your own music you created! Pretty much takes years to get onto that level I guess!

How do you personally discover new music?

In my opinion it is something that can take a lot of time to sit down and search around for new music and as a busy person it is not something I can afford nowadays.. that's why what I found the best for myself and I do in person, I just love listening to radio shows from my favourite labels and artists so I can always listen to these shows anytime when I am on my way travelling to work or somewhere else and if I find a new banger that is love for first hear then I just make a note in my phone that yes, I need to buy this banger straight away once it is released!

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?

“I think we all do, sharing is caring haha! If I find something massive banger then I just start to send around to my DJ friends to check it out and tell me what they think about it..

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?

I think to make collabs with different guys can help a lot as you both can learn a lot from each other! Also taking part of a professional course in a music production school can make the things easier but of course that has its price..

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?

There is an amazing book written by Dennis DeSantis, it is called 74 Creative Strategies for Electronic Music Producers and you can order it from the Ableton's website! So the book has 3 parts and one of the parts is about the problems of finishing a track.. I strongly recommend to everyone to get a copy of this book and read it carefully!

We meet again in one year. What has changed?

Love these questions haha! Hopefully one year from now I have already taken the Toolroom Academy successfully and my music production skills are getting there where I want them to be! My first EP is coming out on Toolroom Records and I am playing some international gigs as I have a lot of industry friends from all around the world, we always help each other a lot to get gigs in our own cities and hopefully I will get to play in their cities as well like New York that has always been a dream of mine to visit! Also planning to move to Ibiza for the next summer season and hopefully I will be able to get a residency there at one of my favourite promoters and venues!
