Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hi, I'm Amin Salmee, a singer, songwriter, music producer from Malaysia. Driven by relentless passion for music, I comes from being a lead singer of a band called Cadence Collision, to an Electronic Dance Music producer. I did a lot of vocals for local and international dance tracks. My tracks have been signed by the likes of Ensis Records, Synthphobia Recordings and Warner Music Malaysia. My music is mainly House-oriented which mostly are Progressive, as to me melody is the most important thing in a track. My tracks have been aired a couple of time in Malaysian national radio, Fly Fm and being charting successfully on Beatport. With the support from stars like ANG, Exis, Riggi and Piros, Simonlee and Alvin, Flaremode, Chukiess and Whackboi and Lush and Simon, I have gain a place in the industry as one of the talent to look out for. Apart from that, I am an independent singer songwriter who mostly writes my own stuff and also for others. You guys can check out my soundcloud link for some of my work:
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I guess my influences varies from time to time but Ive always have a few names that I'm inspired by everyday. As I started from a band atmosphere, my go to bands has always been the likes of Daughtry and The Script. I believe that my style of singing does correlates with theirs, especially in terms of vocal range and such. However, my experience with dance music starts with the first gig i attended, which is the Swedish House Mafia's One Last Tour here in Malaysia. I'm inspired by the song 'Dont You Worry Child' and not to mention the atmosphere of the gig itself. From there, I began to fall in love with dance music and eventually became an EDM producer and also a vocalist for EDM tracks. Therefore I believe that your influences may change over time as it is vital as a musician, that you develop your own sound but at the same time evolve and progress with your musicality.
What´s new right now?
Well, right now I am working on a couple of tracks, singles that I will be featuring on as a vocalist. Some big collaboration coming. I expanded my sound once again by working with people from other genre like Trance and Future House etc. But it's a grueling process, especially when you got expectations and certain time frames to adhere to. Sometimes you lost your trust on your ears. I guess in the end when it's finished, it is all worth it.
In terms of gigs, I just finished performing for Neon Countdown 2017 in Sunway Lagoon, Malaysia on January. I'm looking forward to open for a few big artists that come here. As for now nothing confirmed yet. You guys can follow my socials for any updates on music as well as gigs.
