Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
I’m a swedish house producer, soon to be 24 years old and goes under the artist name Avanio. My interest in music has always been there but when Swedish House Mafia came with the song “One” and Skrillex released his track “Scary Monster” a whole new musical world opened up to me and I fell in love with the house scene.
At first, I was just a regular EDM fan and had no dreams to be able to produce myself. But the urge to create my own music grew stronger, so I eventually started making my own dj-mixes and mashups and put those up on Soundcloud under the artist name Avanio. I was surprised by the good response my mixes got and it triggered me to learn how to produce my own music.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
As I mentioned, Swedish House Mafia and Skrillex were big reasons that I began listen to EDM. Swedish House Mafia and later also Avicii when he released the track “Levels” were producers who impressed me very much production wise! The ability to create an emotional song while retaining the energy that makes it work on the dance floor was something that fascinated me. “Save the World” with Swedish House Mafia is a perfect example and is still one of my favorite tracks.
When it comes to my taste in house music it haven’t changed to much over the years. Of course the whole house industry have changed during these time but I have always been very open minded for the different genres whitin EDM.
What´s new right now?
I work quite hard in the studio for the moment and have a lot of music waiting to be released. My latest track is an unofficial remix of Edward Maya’s legendary hit “Stereo Love” where I gaved it a progressive touch. Check it out below!

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
I had a really hard time learning FL-Studio, which is the program I’m producing in. To learn your DAW and all the technical things around creating music is something I think many facing as a problem and because of that they give up even though they have lots of musical ideas.
The reason I had a hard time at first was because I approached it all wrong. I watched tutorials on Youtube while playing around in FL-Studio, without any specific goal. One day I watched a video of how you mix your bass and when I finished that I tossed the project away. The next day I started a new project and decided I wanted to learn how to write chords and later tossed that project away also… and so it continued. Because of this I struggled with my motivation!
But eventually, I decided to take a different approach. I started a project inside my DAW with the goal of creating an entire track. When the questions occurred, I searched the answer online and learned that way.
My point with this story is that you always should have short-term and realistic goals to work towards. My first goal as a producer was to finish a track and I’ve had several other goals after that!

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
Always be interested in learning new things and developing yourself . Nowadays, there are so many great tips and information on the internet, make use of it! Listen and analyze your favorite songs. What makes them so good? Then try to implement that into your music. If you’re continuously curious about learning new things, you will get better with time!

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?
That is a really good question. My first years as a producer I had a tendency to leave many tracks half done. The thing you need to realize to avoid this is that a track never gets perfect! At some point you have to decide that it’s finished and that it won’t matter if you spend another hour tweaking the same thing over and over again.
