Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
I am Avius. I make electronica music of all sorts, often blending the lines between genres. I've been producing for about 6 years now, but I have been involved with music since age 13. Slow mellow synths, hard hitting beats mellowed out synths and lush atmospheres are the perfect combination for the dark, but haunting sound I call my own. With every track I make I try to bring something fresh to the table and go against the grain, while still making it timeless and familiar.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My influences are found on all parts of the spectrum of styles. I grew up on Techno, Punk and video game music, as well aw alot of The Gorillaz and I think that is very apparent in the music I make. When I first started music production all I listened to was EDM so I was heavily influenced by Skrillex/Porter Robinson and Rob Swire towards the start. I still look up to them today. My tastes have definitely changed over the year as I was introduced to hip hop. Artists/producers like Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and Yung Gud have shaped my production especially. I think they have some of the best drums in the game & They've pushed me and inspired me to give my music that hard hitting edge. Overall, I'm super open to new sounds and new artists and I know my tastes and influences will be every changing.
What´s new right now?
I have a TON of stuff in the works rn. An EP, (digital and physical release) , some singles, and my first music video are among some of the things I have planned. I'm also producing two mixtapes for two different local rappers in my city so this year's gonna be super busy for me but it'll be one to remember for sure!!
