Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

My artist name is Avoly, and I am a producer from Norway. I generally produce within future bass and progressive house, but I also touch into deep house and tropical house. I started producing a few years ago, and has since grown to be a producer with around five years of experience. My recent project was a team-up with an American vocalist, Pat Magada who created a chainsmokers-parody track, which bolstered well over 700K views on YouTube. We made an even more chainsmokers-like track, that now sits well above 130K streams on Spotify! The track can be heard below, or through Spotify by searching for Santa Cruz by Avoly.

Furthermore, I have a release on Desire Recordings, Take You Away. Take you away has almost 50K streams on Soundcloud, and is personally my favorite track so far!

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

My main influences when I started were a few artists within the progressive house genre. Artists like Nicky Romero, Avicii and Afrojack impacted me in the start, and was what I tried to "copy." When I started producing more future bass, artists like Flume helped fire up the interest in the genre. Later I have enjoyed Kaivon, tofû, Illenium and many other artists!

What´s new right now?

I am currently working on a new track with Pat Magada. This time we are creating something we both would listen to on a regular basis. It is more a chill future bass track, with some smashing vocals. Make sure to follow me on Soundcloud to know when it arrives!

Do you have good promotion tips for other musicians?

Pro tips:

– Listen to others music and give them feedback, they'll listen to yours too!
– Repost-services / blogs etc. are a great tool. Just make sure everything is REAL.
– DO NOT purchase fake plays / followers etc. because, it's fake.

Do you have insights on how to grow your audience on soundcloud that you want to share with our audience?

Send your track demos to different small/midsized labels, if they like it, they post it. Send your track into promotion agencies, such as Housebootlegs.com / The Falling Apple, but make sure their promos are REAL. The two I've mentioned are 100% real, and I have used them before with success!

I discover new music by digging deep into Soundcloud. Search for remix contests, and listen to everything!
