Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
I'm a Transcendental Trap producer from Brooklyn New York with a fascination with the way people interpret music as a language. I've always thought that my music should evoke feeling rather than deep contemplation and thought. When I produce a track its more about the initial unprompted reaction and not so much the direct message of the lyrics or the artist behind the music. I named myself AZULPHONIX to mirror and abstract the idea of blueshift doppler effect. The idea that source of a wave is coming closer to the observer. I want to be closer to my listeners.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I would have to say that my biggest influence would have to be Sango. His work sounds like a well developed language, which evokes a sense of duty from, making me want to perfect my own language. I would also say that Sango is also responsible for the narrowing of my sonic focus. I originally started compositions with vague dubstep like synths but I slowly worked into a sound centered around bells and vocal chops wrapped by deep bass hits. I believe developing a theme in music is much like the grammar of a good language.
Check out Sango's work below!
What´s new right now?
I have 20 plus new tracks in my bank right now. I'm sitting on them until I can secure a venue for my Spring show. I would love for fans new and old to here my latest pieces and track my evolution.
