Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hello my name is Felipe Rocha aka 'DBLeyeSixx9' (Double Eye Six Nine) I am an Electronic music producer from Denver, Colorado. I have been producing music for 12 years & DJ'ing for 6 years. I am not sure which Electronic sub-genre I would classify myself under because my music does not sound like anybody else. I have a certain style that I have had since I was 16 that I carried over from producing Hip-Hop, it's a mix of Techno/House/Experimental/Electro. My love for making music started off back in middle school, one day at lunch time I seen some guys rap battling each other in the gym so I went and watched them spit verses and I seen that one of them had some dope lyrics and knew he had skills so after they were done I talked to him, and that's how I met my homeboy Gilbert aka Gilly. I told him I wanted to start producing and I needed someone to rap on the beats, so we started chilling and putting ideas together on getting a studio & making music. We ended up putting together a small studio at my house not soon after that and started "Seven Deuce Records" It was The homies Gilbert, Mike, Adam, & Angel on Vocals & I was the producer, shoutout to all my Seven Deuce Bloc Fam(Gilly,Mikey Trubs,K.I.N.G.,Angel,June,Dom,Bri,O.Z,R.I.P Derek) We would spend all day in my room making music we had dropped a bunch of tracks but sadly I only got about 20% of that music we never got the chance to release them, a lot of them were lost when my harddrive crashed. it was good times, always partying and doing the most we always had a packed house when we recorded I know it drove my mom crazy, but she is my biggest supporter. After awhile the group went their own ways and we stopped making music, but I still had a passion for producing music that's when I discovered Electronic Music I instantly fell in love with it and went to countless number of raves and wanted to be part of the electronic scene. With this new found love I wanted to take what I already knew about producing Hip-Hop and mix it with Electronic music so I experimented with it using a Korg EMX and had some mediocre tracks but wasn't really satisfied with the outcome, it wasn't until 2010 when I started using FL Studios that I actually finally got something down that liked and ever since then I have been getting better & better but this year I finally feel like I made it to where I am not as self conscious about my music and more comfortable with my production.
I had a very productive year last year I ended up releasing 13 tracks throughout the year which was good for me because it sparked my creativity and pushed me to work harder this year. So far only a month into the new year I feel I have pushed my music the furthest it has ever been I have got more plays in this month alone from my new releases, than all my plays combined from my 13 tracks last year. But it was not easy I have went days at a time with little to no sleep sitting in front of my computer constantly working on projects from my production to album cover art, to promotion and social networking. It was definitely a huge task and I bit off more than I can chew at some times, but it is rewarding to see the progress I have made over a short period of time.
I am ready this year to put everything I have into my music and push until I make it even if it kills me. I will stay up all night and all day perfecting my craft and pushing it to get out there for everybody to hear. I push to make it one day for my biggest supporters my mother(Dawn) she is the main reason, she was down since day one, and has invested so much in my love for music because she believes in me. & my grandmother(Regina) she always encourages me and supports me. My Father(Phillip) He is always at my shows to support me and supports my music. & my biggest inspiration my grandfather(Eugene) who passed away last year, he would always watch me for hours as I worked on a track and would go watch me DJ even though he could barely move. I will make this year dedicated to him and keep pushing harder everyday to make sure I finish what I started so I can make him proud.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I started off producing hip-hop, but my main focus now is mainly Electronic music I love both genres, but I feel hip-hop is not enough of a challenge for me when I am producing. I like to try new things and be as creative as possible when I make new tracks, so I love to incorporate my love for hip-hop with my electronic music, one of my first remixes I tried this on was my Electro remix of Tech N9ne's "T9X" https://soundcloud.com/dbleyesixx9/tech-n9ne-t9xfilthy-flip-i69i-nasty-editfree-download.
What´s new right now?
One of my top priorities this year was the launch of my Independent label "BASS PILLAR RECORDINGS©" I wanted to specialize in finding underground artists that have a unique sound that sounds completely different than the rest. The very first track I released through my label is my original track called "72HRS" I got the idea for the name because I want to finish a track every 3 days as many times as possible this year, it is a mellow Bass House type of track. https://soundcloud.com/basspillarrecordings/double-eye-sixx-9-72hrsoriginal-mixbass-pillar-recordings I have many other projects in store for this year so be on the lookout.
