Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is Mark Swizzel and my artist name is DJ Swizzel. I began my musical journey in 2014 when I started releasing tracks on SoundCloud. I will admit they weren't very good at the time but since those tracks, I've learned so much. My style of music was a dance funk sound with some electronic elements. In 2015 I decided to release my first song on iTunes and Spotify. It was called Glowstick and is still available today. After a few more singles I decided to release an entire album. The album was called DEMO and featured 11 tracks including Glowstick. It was released in September of 2016. In 2017 I released two more singles and a remix. Other than that it was a pretty quiet year. Here in 2018, I plan on releasing even more music and possibly a second album.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I have learned so much since my first attempt at making music and I am still learning from everything I do now. I think that as time goes on my music will get better because I am becoming more experienced. I've always been influenced by artist like Daft Punk, Avicii, and more recently Owl City. My dream is to make music that makes people feel happy. That when they listen they forget all of their worries.
What´s new right now?
Right now I am working on numerous projects from singles to my next album, and even a collab. My next release is set to be in March so be on the lookout for that. 2018 is going to be a busy year so I hope you're excited.
