Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Hi! My name is Elsa Vendella and I am nineteen years old. I sing, write and produce music in my bedroom. I also make my own music videos to each song, so that I can share a bit of the vision that I had while making the song. I would describe my sound as dark pop / witch pop and bubblegum pop. Although the new songs I've been making lately, have been more futuristic and I would like to call it Robot pop. I have always enjoyed singing and music, but I really started showing an interest for it when I was thirteen, I started playing the piano on a website haha, and then I decided to get a real keyboard to practice on, and later on I got my first guitar. Music became a big part of me as times got hard. Music was my escape. I attended my first music camp in Sweden called Popkollo where I performed on stage for the second time. When it was time for me to choose what high school I wanted to go to I chose a music high school where I lost my stage fright! I started performing at cafés, joined a choir and went to music camp two more times. I started focusing on songwriting and producing my own music.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

I remember the first songs that opened up my mind to a sound that I thought was really cool and which led me to my first taste in music. A few of the songs were: Sticky Honey by Juliette and the Licks, Ice Cream by NYPC, Hong Kong Garden by siouxsie and the banshees, Called Out in the Dark by Snow Patrol. I had many different tastes in music since then but one artist who changed my view on music was Lana Del Rey. She opened up my mind to artistry, of what it is to be a true artist. Not long after that I started listening to Marina And The Diamonds who also influenced me in many ways, she opened up my eyes to dark pop; writing dark lyrics and putting it into an upbeat pop sound. I thought it was so unique and just what I needed to listen to at the time! I also started listening to Sky Ferreira and Charli xcx. After listening to them, I realised that I wanted to start making more upbeat electronic pop songs instead of songs on piano and guitar, so that's when I began producing. I also really like listening to Grimes! I discovered her music for not so long ago and her music makes me feel like I can do whatever I want while creating music because it could turn into something really cool and unique if I just let myself disappear into the music.
Other influences I have are different time periods in music. I find it very interesting how much music can change, that it can become something that it's never been before. I sometimes wonder what music will be like in the future, if different new instruments will be created for example.

My inspirations and influences have definitely taught me how to be bold on stage, especially Marina and Charli xcx. Without seeing their awesome stage presence on youtube videos I would probably not have had the courage to flip my hair, jump around, dance and show my anger and emotions on stage!

What´s new right now?

My upcoming EP is about the internet, outer space and the future set in a dystopian society, but also about the society that we are already living in. I plan on making a music video for each song. I also plan on finishing my first album: Secret Garden, but as I changed my sound, i stopped making the album and instead made an EP called P0p El3ctric!

Here is a taste of a few of the songs(a few seconds to each song) on my upcoming EP that I haven't named yet.
