Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Hello, I'm Chris, mostly known by my artist name, FSB. I produce music that I like and that matches to my tastes. I also dj and play basketball.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

I first got in touch with the world of dance music through Armin Van Buuren's (who I idolize) hit "In and out of Love". It marked my childhood and thats how I developed an interest for electronic music over the time. The turning point, though, that made me start actually making my own music was when I watched, through a friend, Hardwell's 2012 Tomorrowland set. I was simply fascinated by the community, the music and the vibe! Indeed, my taste did develop over time. I'm now a die hard Hardstyle and Rawstyle fan (although I don't produce those two genres). In fact I can safely say that Trance and Hardstyle are the genres that define me as a person and House is the genre that defines me as a producer.

What´s new right now?

Unfortunately production has been a little dry lately, mainly because of college, but I do have a track dropping sometime in the next few months and many plans for the future as well. Time will tell, though.

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?

I'm a superfan of Armin Van Buuren and also the whole Hardstyle/Rawstyle scene. Armin was the first to introduce me to the dance music industry and as for the hard dance scene, I just love the energy that emerges from it!

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

Like everyone, I have done plenty of mistakes but I can't think of a serious or devastating one. But if there's one thing I know, is that I have learned from them and I'm prepared not to do them again in the future.

How do you get gigs? Can you share any tips?

My only tip is to get out there and meet people related with the nightlife of your area. If you're a producer, you also have an extra advantage since you can grow your name that way, acquire prestige and hence be able to get booked easier and often. Unless you have a manager, it's up to you to meet people and get bookings.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

My biggest challenge so far has been to develop my own music style and honestly I think I have achieved it. The off beat trancy bass and the ethnic elements and melodies are my distinctive sound.

We meet again in one year. What has changed?

This is a really long guess to take. Anything could happen. I might be playing gigs and producing full time and start building a name or I might be struggling in the studio trying to balance college and music. Time, dedication and hard work will tell.
