Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

My name is Gorgun, I'm a bass music producer from Michigan. I've been producing for almost 5 years.
I have had releases with places like Crowsnest Audio and JesusDied4Dubstep.
I love many kinds of music and listen to a number of different things, however I do find myself mostly producing heavier things.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

There were a few things that initially got me into electronic music in general. A friend showed me Excision's 2008 Shambhala mix back in 2011. After that, I went looking in to new music and found Skrillex's Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites EP as well as Bassnectar's Timestretch EP. Loved everything about what I heard and kept digging for new artists, eventually stumbling into people like Zomboy, Cyberoptics, Funtcase, Dubba Johnny etc.

After a few months, I had started watching videos of dubstep shows and thinking about how cool it all was. I never even considered producing music as a thing to do. I had made hip-hop beats before, for friends, with free online DAW-ish things, but never went any further with it. I eventually looked up how it all worked and ended up using FL Studio. I still use FL Studio to this day.

Early on some of my favorite producers were Getter, Zomboy, Datsik, Excision, D-Jahsta and Trollphace. Nowadays, I pull a lot of influence from people like Code: Pandorum, Mastadon, Phiso, Megalodon, and Trampa. Code: is by far one of my all time favorite producers and I think he is easily one of the greatest names in dubstep right now.

What´s new right now?

I have a lot of new music I'm working on right now. I've created some sounds I've never used before and I feel like I'm stepping up my production quality a bit too. I hope to have some of this stuff out to people soon. You can always keep in touch with what I'm doing by checking out my Soundcloud or dropping by my Facebook page!

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?

As far as dubstep, I guess I'm a "superfan" of Code: Pandorum and Phiso. They're both incredibly unique with stellar production quality. I've loved just about everything they have ever released ever since I found them.

Outside of purely electronic music, I really like Eminem and Terror Reid (Getter's side project). No question that Eminem is one of the greatest rappers ever. I'd consider being a superfan of him fairly self explanatory. Terror Reid I like for a number of reasons, but I dig that he makes his own beats and writes his own lines (which are dope and often funny).

Lastly, I love Ellie Goulding's work. Loved all her music since I discovered her in 2011. Would love to produce a track for her one day.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

For the first year, producing was purely experimentation, and it was super fun. The more I learned from people on Youtube, Reddit, or any other source I could find, the more I took a lot of things to heart. I took a lot of information as being the 'right' thing to do. Generally speaking, there is no right or wrong in music. It's all subjective. Don't fully lock yourself into anything anyone tells you. Take the things you hear and read, try applying them to your own philosophy and style, and then keep doing you.

How do you personally discover new music?

If I am looking for new people to hear music from, I often look at the people I am following on Soundcloud already, and see who they are following or reposting. I also stay subbed/following to a number of labels and promo channels I enjoy, as they are usually the places that pick up and bring new artists to light.
