Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hey, my name is Ctirad aka Jesper, which is my DJ nickname. I'm 28 years bloke from the heart of Europe, Czech Republic. I'm DJ, I also write for two blogs about house music, one is from my country www.housemagazine.cz and the second is the international blog called www.thegroovecartel.com. And also I'm the co-founder, co-owner, and A&R of my label Frisson Records which I'm managing together with my good friend from Down Under. As a DJ I'm playing last 5 years or so.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I started to listen to dance music when I was 15 years old. I started with trance which I was listening around 5 years, then I started to move slowly to the more progressive house and last year I went into the more underground house, tech-house music, and this kind of music. So basically I started with music with a higher bpm and over the years, as I grew up, I moved to the music with a slower bpm. But I think you have to find by yourself what do you like as I did. I really like this new wave of melodic deep house, tech-house music. It's something like a hybrid of more genres, it's melodic but still, it has a deep/tech basis.
What´s new right now?
I have few upcoming gigs ahead of me. But lately, I'm focusing on my label as I mentioned before. We wanna help young and more undiscovered producers with their production, help them get the attention that we believe they truly deserve. If they are making great music we are more then happy to release it. We know that this isn't spring, it's marathon. It's like building a brand. You have to have some visions and be clear, what do you want, then people will know with whom they are dealing with. We don't doing this because we have to, but because we want and I think that's one of our biggest advantages. We just love it and it's our life, kind of.
