Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Jungle & Juice is a DJ/Producer couple from Austria. Ines Guelmami (Jungle) and Christian Sander (Juice) met in 2015 and fell in love. During their first weekend of being together, they discovered they both share an immense love for music and hence, their first track was born. Since then they founded their own record label Leisure Music Productions. Over the past years, Jungle & Juice produced more than 100 tracks. Jungle & Juice loves a happy and upbeat vibe. Since a very young age Ines Guelmami half Tunisian, half Austrian learned to play the piano in high school. During the beginnings of her studies in the late 90’s she discovered electronic music and hence brings experience as well as a broad understanding of the scene into the music making process. Due to her heritage, she incorporates rhythm and therefore as Jungle is responsible for the groove in Jungle & Juice’s production works. Christian hailing from the lovely South of Austria grew up loving grunge and rock music and plays the guitar and bass guitar from a very young age on. He is the creative mastermind in creating melodies and different harmonies behind Jungle & Juice. Therefore, the project Jungle & Juice connects with lots of love the ability to dance “Beat” and the deep understanding of “Melody”. Jungle & Juices vibes on the following: deep house, afro house, tech house, house, progressive house, deep tech, melodic house & techno.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

Our influences concerning music are very broad and each one of us experienced different influences. We love music in general being it classical music, jazz, soul, blues, rock or electronic music. Music reflects one’s feelings and emotions and captures moments through our lives. All the latter plays a major part in our compositions. Concerning electronic music our experience and influence stems from various directions. Techno as played in the old days from Josh Wink, Derrick May, Jeff Mills.. Good old Chicago House Music and the Danny Tenaglia party’s @shelter in New York. Progressive House sets from Sascha and Digweed and of course underground music from Ibiza and local clubs. Afro House and Deep House are now the 2 genres that interest us the most.

What´s new right now?

We are attending AfrikaBurn at the end of April and playing multiple sets there. We have an up and coming house release on Deeplomatic Recordings called “Druid Groove” as well as an upcoming deep house release on Leisure Music Productions called Szantors Satements.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

There are no such things as mistakes. There are only challenges to overcome. Work hard and every day on your productions and work hard and every day on your self-promotion and marketing. In order to be recognized you need both abilities to strive.

Do you have good promotion tips for other musicians?

There are many ways to promote music. First, you have to determine how much budget you have available to promote your track and also you have to know your target audience. You can promote your track via the social media platforms such as Instagram, FB and Twitter. Furthermore, through Soundcloud repost campaigns. Another option is to send out a personal newsletter to your fans. You can use different online music marketing services offering DJ promo mailout and PR Campaigns. This really depends on your budget.

Do you have insights on how to grow your audience on soundcloud that you want to share with our audience?

Do not buy Soundcloud followers. It’s a waste of money because they are fake and some bots in third world countries. The only reasonable thing to do is to promote your tracks via good repost services.. That will bring quality followers to your account and organic plays. Only organic growth generates real fans. Do not forget to thank people who like your tracks and write them back on their messages. Get active on soundcloud and connect yourself with the people out there.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

The biggest challenge we have overcome is to create balanced and wonderful mixes, before the tracks are mastered. We have overcome that challenge by focusing and researching upon the topic. The study of multiple online courses and books really helped to become better producers.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?

Finish all the tracks you begin and do not publish them right away. Let the song, rest for a while and come back to it after i.e. 1 week. You will be surprised on the changes you will come up with..

What is your best tip for those who struggle with finishing their tracks?

Think about your track as a story. Give your track a name so you can relate to it.. it creates an image in your mind and while creating the music the image starts to move and change.. Follow it with your sound and create the story for it.
