Lester, Nowhere

Read the Lester, Nowhere Interview below and share it on social media.

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Lester, Nowhere was born in '98. Originally named Arturo, he grew up listening to Black Sabbath while playing with Lego, Kurt Cobain while learning to draw, and Mogwai all along. At the age of 12 though, he fell in love with hip hop, and never looked back.
At 16 he started messing around with FL Studio: he initially enjoyed doing remakes of beats from the likes of Kanye West, 9th Wonder, A Tribe Called Quest, and then he discovered beat battles and started making his own beats, spacing from 90's hip hop to lo-fi, trap and more modern influences. After meeting the lo-fi beatmaker Saito (the two surprisingly found out that they live at a 10' walk of distance) he started taking his craft more seriously. Now he's dedicating himself to beatmaking to the fullest, at the point that he dropped out of university to pursue his dream.
His body currently lives in Prato (in Italy, near Florence) but his mind is hustling everyday to find a solution to this problem, hoping that music will be the key.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

My influences are still pretty the same, I never "left" an artist I loved at first, and I think that all the music I loved in the past influences the stuff I make now in an uncounscious way. What really got me into hip hop at first was "NBA Live 07" PC game's soundtrack: it was a crazy playlist with people like Murs & 9th Wonder, Talib Kweli and Rhymefest in it, and it made me instantaneously fall in love with those kind of vibes.

What´s new right now?

My upcoming album, titled "Ghosts Will Take Care of You", is dropping March 21st. I started composing it last November, it's ten tracks long and it features vocals from the rappers Danny Watts, Lordapex and Rollie Mac, and two beatmakers, Kuranes and Fushou, worked with me on two tracks.
