Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
L.U.C. (pronounced LUKE) is an acronym for Lights of Urban Chaos. The name represents a definition of the artist's name Luke; Light of the City of Chaos. Light represents his first name Lucas. Urban represents the type of neighborhood he is from, and chaos represents his life and how it has unfolded. His first performance was in 2013 in the basement of his friend’s campus house. LUC attended a small liberal arts college in Davenport, Iowa. After graduation he started really pursuing music, getting involved in the local scene and playing weekly shows in Iowa and surrounding states while working a day job as a warehouse associate. After 3 years of working hard in his scene and a years worth of saving he moved to Lakewood, Colorado on October 1st, 2017, in hopes of expanding his name. He started working as a bouncer and is currently is DJing every wednesday at Brothers in downtown Denver. He is always looking for new venues to show off his skills as a musician.
L.U.C. has performed in many states and has a very unique style of blending old school with new school. He started his performing career playing at Thumping Thursdays in Moline, IL. Shortly after becoming a regular there he started branching out to other artists around the region and finding bigger venues to play at. Here is a list of venues/ events he has played;

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I have really developed an all around music taste from my experiences. I have had a residency where all I could play was Top 40, which kind of made me sick of playing that type of music. In the end it was good because it helps to be more versatile. Over time i really developed a love for dark tech house, and deep house because it is really fun to mix and it provides a bouncy energy. I love and will always love dubstep, early dubstep is what got me into the scene, and the newish genre called riddim has kept me here. Within that genre I also love wonk and grime. Playing sets with the grime crowd is my favorite because its all new. Some may be remixes but grime crowds want to hear tracks they have never heard before, and that is what I want to hear when I go to a show.
What´s new right now?
Right now I have 5 new mixes and one edit that I have not yet released. 2 house mixes, 2 future bass mixes , and 1 that is an everything kind of mix. The edit is of Excision's throwing elbows track and I have a few more edits I am in the process of. I have many shows coming up, I prefer afterparty sets because I love going to shows. I just moved from Iowa to Colorado to get away from the Top 40 scene, so these past three months I have been focused on going to shows and meeting promoters, but its hard to trust people in the scene these days. I am working on finding the sound I want to create, and working on learning sound design. My last comment is don't be afraid to be who you are. It sounds cliche, but I would not be doing this interview or even in the position I am in as an artist if I conformed to what other people wanted me to be. That being said don't be afraid to change either, because the only consistency in life is that everything is always changing.
