Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Hi, there to everyone! <3
Who am I ? Well I’m many things ? as many as the feelings and thoughts are flowing inside of me!
My artist name Luca Vaga aka Dj Vaga stays for exemple for “Vagabond” which is my essence…
Originally i come from south Italy, from where in the 2001 i took my back pack and started to travel around Europe living literally day by day as a Vagabond, playing a didgeeridoo in the streets and squares of the city. This is how i´ve earned my money and get in touch with many lovely people, most of them represent nowadays my world-wide <3 family!
I’ve been traveling around and collecting of course a lot of great music too from the subcultural scene of each of the places i´ve been. Slowly my musical collection became a real cultural treasure, which it did lead me to became an international artist by playing in most known subcultural venues of 12 European countries. I’m so, a dj, cultural management, supporter and organizer of parties and indoor festivals where not only djs sets and concerts are happening but as well workshops, installations and other kind of art performances.
I’ve been organizing different parties between those there are: # “Swing, Swing, Swing” (Leipzig) # “Balkan Boogie Night” (Berlin) and # “Goulash Disko Berlin” …i let you imagine the music styles by yourself! ?
But the very first event, the one from where everything have started around ten years ago (in the october 2007) in Cologne (DE) is:
# “Save The Last Dance…for the Revolution!” a project-party which has a big place in my heart!
Behind this name an authentic motto, represented by the huge love which is expressed by great artists from all around the world trough the music styles of Cumbia, Rumba, Reggae-Ska, Balkan, Gypsy, Swing, Drum´n´Bass Mashups, Tropical & Oriental Bass, Tech World-House, Tribal & Shamanic Chill-Out beats etc..
I’m talking about artists and musicians who are using music as a “cultural weapon”, who contribute through the music and arts to a mass awareness and awakening against the injustice of this system.
The goal, is the achievement of the evolution of the humanity for a better life-experience in this planet and so, to a global happiness :))
This is the spirit which leads each of my performances and the reason why, ten years ago, i decided to dedicate most of my time expressing my joy, passions and love for life trough music: deejaying and getting wild and free on the stage with all my guests, in that high state of mind and soul which i feel and define as the “Delirium of the Folk” …that’s the concept and the definition which has born together with me and my artist alter <3 ego: Dj Vaga – Luca Vaga.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

My attention and fun for music have been mostly for styles which are generally having and saving in itself the power of stories.
As i´ve already said, i love very much music when it brings you to dance feelings and thoughts trough your body and soul.
I’m deeply glad and grateful as well when i can hear and feel the power of cultural heritage in a song, that’s may probably be the reason why i feel so excited all the time i am in front of folk or gypsy bands with seven, eight, nine…thirteen members/musicians, getting high playing their instruments all together!
I would not say that my taste for music changed over the time…if i have to talk about the music styles i like, well, then the list get very big by me. I use to say: “i have no borders in life as in music styles” … and when you are having such attitude as musician, composer or a deejay” lets say the truth…the situation starts to be complex! ?
In the 2007 for example i started having fun playing a lot of folkloristic-world music from Italy, basques land, spain, south America…mostly latin sounds but also music from some bands which brings atmospheres, smells, colors and rhythms from irish land and african folks. three years later, my repertory got larger and larger…without any barriers and the beautiful crazy and feverish sound from the Eats cultures started to have a huge effect on me with the fantastic and powerful brasses of the Balkan & Gypsy music, the illarious Polka style of the so called “Russian Disco”, then down trough the beautiful rhythms of the arabic percussions and melodies…arriving to the oriental Masala.
During the 2011 my horizon got wider again with the Electro-Swing music which opened in me a real and deeper interest and evolution trough the Electro sounds…nowadays i’m booked for events which are very different in styles…from the more folkloristic and world music, hold school funk, to events where I’m called to play mostly electronic music with Global/Gypsy Beats, Tropical & Oriental Bass, Tech & World-House, Tribal & Shamanic Chill-Out etc..and the story does not end here!
Here some tunes for you: …have fun and leave some comments!

What´s new right now?

Well, there are planty of news right now, first of all, I’m having a little break and concentrate on new projects which will guide me to land in performances by Chill-Out stages where I’m gonna spread beautiful stories with Tribal-Shamanic & Tropical Bass Music.
I’m still working on realizing an open air Soundsystem with a familiar stage for approximately 500 people and menage so free festivals in cooperation with artists and collectives all around Europe. Soon ill move to the beautiful landscape of Swiss!! so, i’m preparing the bookings there to fire the dance floors of Luzern, Bern, Zürig, Basel, Geneva etc.. for the autumn/winter 2018/19 so I’m very looking forward to meet you <3 beautiful in these cities soon! Last but not least, i’m preparing for a World-Wide Tour which isn’t easy to build in just a year.
All in all, great changes for which my heart is beating and sending me the visions I’m already enjoying!!
