Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

Hello! Thank you for your interest and for granting me this interview.
Well, I’m Lucks, my real name is Lucas Martins, i'm an independent electronic experimental music creator since 2009, and i'm always learning more and searching for a new tecnics to improve my skills. I love art in general. I believe that without it life would not make sense (for me and for many other people). I was born in 1994 in Rio de Janeiro, a big Brazil city, but most of my life I’ve lived in the interior of Sao Paulo and that's where I met electronic music through friends and since then I've never been the same.

My music can be defined, in a simple way, as Experimental Electronica or Techno , with influences from House Music, Detroit Techno, Berlin Techno and Hip hop. I must tell that I like the term “Experimental” too much, for the same reasons i like the concept of “The music is an experiment”. I mean: it’s quite stupid to think there is an "magic formula" to make music, do you understand?! It may even be true. But, i can't think like that. I believe that we should always try something new, experiment something that nobody never did.

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

I started listening to electronic music from my early childhood, thanks to the mp3 player my father gave me, but the moment I really got into electronic music was when I met Gustavo Eloy and Leandro Santanna. We meet every weekend to share knowledge about the music scene and about music production. I believe it all started there, it was where I could take my doubts with them and so know more about this universe.

At that time, in Brazil, the musical genre on the rise was the Electro House. In a few years, it was disappearing, Tech House was growing and with that I was discovering even more within the music, the death of a genre would bring life to other genres and that's how I discovered Techno. Going to festivals, meeting people who share the same idea, sharing ideas about music and witnessing many new things in Techno, I saw how simple and how complex it is, and I really fell in love.

So while I was in high school, I started using computer software called FL Studio and decided to start creating my own music. These early musical compositions, although damned and poorly done – and obviously unpublished – are very important to me because they represented the stage of intense experimentation and learning in my life. Picasso said that "the quality of a painter depends on the amount of past he carries with him". Well, I must admit that I had never studied music in my life, but I certainly had some knowledge about music, a cultural background and apparently … I also had some talent! People started listening to my recordings and the reviews were really positive! Most of my listeners thought that my music was interesting and refreshing and, above all else, that I had a very original and interesting taste – or peculiar.

For the last nine years, I studied music, started studying piano, engaging in new explorations of sound and research, naturally combining my old and new influences, but never thinking about creating a very definite style, because I prefer to feel free when I compose.

In 2015, together with some friends we developed something innovative and unique in our city. An event that happened every third Saturday of the month called "Techno On The Street". The idea was clear and simple, occupy the squares of our city with an event totally focused on the Techno for all ages and people, and the best, for free. We were behind to do everything in compliance, with a license, respecting all the laws we managed to grow and acquire a lot of experience in the course of the events, however the proportion he took we did not expect, at the beginning few people knew, but with time it was growing and in our eleventh edition the square was totally taken over by the people, it was really incredible and rewarding for all of us.

I believe that this phase opened our eyes, we saw how the other side of the scene works, the side of events organizers, and thus better position ourselves on our individual projects as a DJ and producer.

What´s new right now?

I started the creation of my first album, I've been working on it for a few months. I think it's going to be released this year ..
I have also worked on many new things like new EP's, remixes, collabs, videos tracks.

Nothing more to say … Thank you very much, Traxx24 Crew !!!
