Lunyx/Sean

Read the Lunyx/Sean Interview below and share it on social media.

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?

My name is Lunyx; my real name being Sean, i'm 17 years old turning 18 very shortly in about 2 and a half weeks. I was born in Ireland but i moved to Australia in 2009. I live in Queensland, Australia and I'm currently studying music and sound production at TAFE Coomera Campus. I have been making music since mid 2016 starting with vaporwave until i switched to lo-fi/chill hop and electronic music in 2017, however i was forced to go on a hiatus from music for a number of reasons ranging from graduating high school to technical issues. Early this year i came back to making music with 2 songs that are in the works right now, so make sure to keep an eye out for when it releases!

How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?

One of my main influences would definitely be Daft Punk, they're the people who introduced me to the world of electronic music and have played a huge part when it comes down to me making electronic music. When i started listening to music, i was mainly listening to hip hop/rap from artists such as Wu Tang Clan, NaS, Eminem and many more. Later on i started to get into more electronic music through artists such as Nero, Datsik, Kavinsky, Flume and a whole lot more. At first my taste mainly evolved around french house with the styles of Stardust and Daft Punk then later on morphed into disco, future funk of the likes of Macross 82-99 and Night Tempo and then the ambient sounds of 2 8 1 4. Because of all the songs I've listened to over a number of years

What´s new right now?

I have 1 upcoming release very soon and another project that I've started working on entitled "Eternity 2025" which will consist of more of a synthwave and ambient touch. if you would like to get in touch with me; email would be the best method since i am very active and will respond within a short amount of time. All of my tracks that i post are on Soundcloud and Bandcamp. You don't need to pay anything to download my tracks, if you decide to purchase or make a donation; that would be hugely appreciated. For those wanting to collaborate with me, send me a message on either Soundcloud or email and i'll be sure to get back to you asap!

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?

My biggest mistake was trying to use music production programs without looking up any tutorials on how to actually use it. For those getting into making electronic music or any type, search up how to use the main features of said program since it can determine the quality of your tracks

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

My biggest challenge so far was trying to find which area of music suits me best, i have explored multiple genres of music and have seemed to struggle which one works well for me. But nowadays that issue seems to be no more.
