Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
MND!SND is the music artist alias of Rob Evans. I make beats and produce tracks for local talent and hopefully much bigger names in the future. My music has been described as 'something different', 'trippy', ambient, bass heavy, melodic, and an even wider range of adjectives. No professional releases yet (hint, hint), but hoping for some in the future. I produce my music with FL Studio and a wide range of plugins and samples. I hope to make people TH!NK differently, to feel more and sometimes less, to take you exactly where you need to be; but remember, it's not the destination that matters, it's the journey. I hope you enjoy yours.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
My influences are a bit more non-terrestrial than what you might expect. I feel the vibrations from every Universe, Galaxy, Planet, Star, Aurora, Atom, and every thought, emotion, and encounters I have had with every one throughout my life. I pull sounds from past, present, and future and bend them to make something tangible. My tastes and influences have not changed whatsoever. My variety is so wide, that it just keeps getting bigger and bigger so keep following to see where the journey will take me, and there's room for everyone.
What´s new right now?
I have new releases rather frequently; it's a pain keeping track of my upload time on SoundCloud. As for anything specific, I have several new releases lined up or planned out with my main man Jordan Padenich. He is an EXCELLENT rapper and is also my main vocalist for my beats. He's seriously talented, check him out on Facebook, goes by Calculated on SoundCloud. Stay tuned, and stay up.

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
The biggest mistake I made, as do many others, is that loud does not mean good… A lot of artists these days open up a limiter or Maximus and slap on the "Max Loudness" preset on the master track and call it a night. No. Don't do that. EQ'ing is crucial to every sound. You have to keep your frequencies in check, cutting out certain frequencies usually does a much better clean up than boosting where it isn't necessary. Keep it clean.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
Staying on my grind, not falling off from where I started; that's my biggest challenge. I tend to start projects and not finish them. I tend to get a LOT of stress in life, and it has a way of showing through my music. Sometimes I can overcome it, sometimes I can't. It's an ongoing struggle that I intend to surpass.

How do you personally discover new music?
SoundCloud. That's it. That's where all the best artists are in my opinion. Underrated, not influenced by mainstream media and what people want them to do. They do them and keep it real.

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?
“Face to face. That's my favorite form of communication, along with messaging. I like to show people SOME of the dope music I find, but others I have a special appreciation for and I like to keep as my own personal jam collection.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
Use everything to your advantage. Take sounds and samples from anything and everything and play around with it. You never know what you could make. I made some dope background ambiance from a recording of my bathtub drain. Do it up.
