Read the MXRA Interview below and share it on social media.
Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
My name is Mike. Known as MXRA (MARA) in the producer scene. I am a 17 year old guy from The Netherlands. I grew up with music, especially hip-hop music. I was in a dancing crew for 5 years and learnt a lot from music there. I stopped and found my real passion: making music myself. I first started opening FL Studio (Music DAW) 7 months ago. Never realizing what it could bring me. After 2 months just messing around, I wanted to start making beats serious. I first started of with making trap beats. I never fucked with it actually, but didn't know what to do. A little while ago I found out RnB music. I wanted to try it and I fell in love with this genre. I've been making RnB focussed beats for 5 months now. I never thought that I would make serious music, only thought I would do it for fun and never release it. I started a Youtube channel so I could share my art with other people. I met a lot of nice friends from the scene and learning a lot and still learning many things everyday.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I grew up in the Hip-Hop culture. I started listening to oldskool hip-hop beats. My taste has changed many times over the past few years. I listened to Hip-Hop, Dutch rap, EDM, Chillstep, Grime, American rap, Soul, RnB, Jazz and Dubstep. The last few years I am only listening to HipHop, RnB, Jazz and Soul. I try to go listen to more genres so I can get loads of inspiration.
What´s new right now?
I am working hard on many things. This year my beat EP will be released, collaborations with artists, a new sample/drum pack will be released when I hit 1k subscribers on Youtube and much more to come!
