Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Suh, my name is Dylan Seibert. But a lot of people may know me as OMINOVS. Yes, it's spelled with a V. I'm a 15-year-old Christian EDM producer from Southern California. I've been making music since I was eleven years old. I used to love messing around with an app called Beatwave. My music was awful, but I didn't let that stop me. I eventually moved on to FL Mobile on my step dads iPad. Then GarageBand Mobile on my iPhone. But then one day, my grandpa bought me Logic Pro X. And I've only been getting better.
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
I remember I used to hate EDM. I was just like any other ten-year-old. "It's just lasers and fart sounds!" The first EDM song I liked was "Whip-It" by 1uP. My friend used to play it on his speaker after school got out. I went home that day and looked up the song. That was the day I was introduced to Monstercat; perhaps the greatest record label I've ever come across. I remember the first song I bought from the label was "Rattlesnake" by Rogue. Soon later I found Beatwave. Like I said, I was terrible. But I went from nonrhythmic noise, to this.

What´s new right now?
No gigs right now, just trying to get my music out there, then eventually sign to a record label and find a manager. But I'm currently working on a lot of projects that I hope to eventually release. One of many obstacles a musician faces is getting a song idea, then abandoning it for another song idea.

Are you a superfan of anyone? How did you become a superfan? Do you remember how you become a fan and what turned you into super fan? Have you ever thought about why you´re such a fan?

What was the biggest mistake you made when you started making music and what would be the number one tip you could give to a newcomer musician?
Don't do anything stupid, this is especially humiliating if you do stupid crap with making music as a kid. Don't make songs about TV shows, video games, or anything else like that unless you know that fans of that show or video game will genuinely enjoy the song. TheLivingTombstone is an example of a successful artist that does this. Don't make songs with big names just to get clicks, you'll regret it, and you'll look stupid and cringy as you look back on it.

Do you have insights on how to grow your audience on soundcloud that you want to share with our audience?
Keep making music, get better and practice. You'll never just be good at something unless you were born with a gift. Try signing with record labels on the SoundCloud community. There are awesome underground record labels, with awesome people.

What has been your biggest challenge right now? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
Creating a well mixed, professional sounding track. I can play the melodies, make the basses, mix the drums, but I can't figure out how to get a professional sounding track.

How do you personally discover new music?
I listen to songs from record labels such as OWSLA, Monstercat, and NCS just to name a few. I check out the artists that sign with that label and check out what they like and who they follow.

Once you discovered new music, do you tell others about the new music/artist you discovered? If yes, how exactly?
“I usually just listen to that artist repeatedly, to share it with people I either ask if they want to listen to it or just wear merch.

What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills?
Even though it says not to say this, practice. I was terrible when I started. I only got better by making more music. Use birthday and Christmas money to buy plugins and instruments. Watch youtube tutorials on how to mix and master. And watch more youtube tutorials on how to design synths and basses. If you come up with a cool synth, don't get cocky. This will make you feel like you don't have to put as much effort. Create a melody, don't just make it plain and boring, make it fun to listen to. Mess with the pitch, EQ, and automation.
