Please tell our readers who you are and what you do?
Hello! We are Raised on TV, an alternative rock band from Los Angeles. We've recently released our first album, as well as some videos and singles, and our van is currently broken down in Las Vegas. Check out our single "Big Sur."
How would you describe your influences and how have they changed over the years?
Our influences are many, but are definitely rooted in classic and alternative rock, like the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and the Kinks. We also have a fondness for many of the great bands from the 1990s like the Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, and the Pixies. Our influences and taste definitely change and evolve through time, and we're always looking for new bands and new sounds that inspire us. I (Keaton) have recently been listening to a lot of Grizzly Bear, Band of Horses, and Cage the Elephant. Of course, this is just a fraction of all the great music out there that has influenced us, and that is not only great listening, but also inspiring.
What´s new right now?
Yes, there is new stuff going on right now! For one thing, we are trying to get our broken down van back from Vegas. Beyond that, we are currently working on a new EP that will be released in early 2018, as well as some new music videos that we hope will excite people out of their chairs. We have a show coming up on 2/7/18 at The Silverlake Lounge in Los Angeles with some other great LA bands that we know. (The Absurd, Mechanical Roots, Greg in Good Company, and Egg Drop Soup) Please come out to a show and say hey! We promise to be nice.
